THAT a special rate of three-twentieths of a penny in the pound be struck on Sections 1, 2, part Section 3, part Section 4, and Section 5, Block V., Sections 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 32, 33, 34, 35, and 44, Block X., Sections 194, 195, 196, 197, 198, 199, Block VII., and Section 2, Block XII., Woodville Survey District, to pay the interest and charges on a loan of £100, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for Elliott Road. Such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for the period of twenty-six years, and to be payable in one sum on the 1st day of December in each year.

I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly made as required by section 76 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

PAPAKURA ROAD BOARD.

I AM directed to forward result of poll taken on the 1st instant respecting the following proposal:—

The Papakura Road Board proposes to borrow from the New Zealand Government, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” the sum of £300 for the purpose of building a bridge over the creek in Bridge Road; also £100 for the purpose of building a bridge over the Tutaekuri-Waimate Stream, in the line of Donnelly’s Road.

Ratepayers on roll 100, representing 143 votes; ratepayers voting in favour of proposal 10, representing 22 votes; number voting against, nil; number of ratepayers who did not vote 90, representing 121 votes.

The number of ratepayers who voted in favour of the proposal and the number of votes recorded in favour of the same being in each case a minority, the Chairman (John Orr) has declared the proposal rejected.

SUNKEN WRECK IN THE VICINITY OF POPE’S EYE BUOY, QUEENSCLIFF.

MARINERS and others are hereby informed that the steam-ship “Gambier” has sunk in the vicinity of Pope’s Eye buoy, Queenscliff. Until further notice the wreck will be marked between sunset and sunrise by the exhibition of three red lights in globular lanterns in a vertical line one over the other, not less than 3ft. apart, placed on or in front of the foremast, and elevated not less than 20ft. above the level of the sea, and between sunrise and sunset by three black balls, not less than 2ft. in diameter, placed in position and line as described for lanterns.

Caution: Notice will be given for the removal of the wreck, and in the meantime mariners navigating in the vicinity are warned to look out for floating wreckage, and
