THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Taratahi-Carterton Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

TARATAHI-CARTERTON ROAD BOARD.—KOKOTAU BRIDGE.
THE following is the result of the poll taken at the homestead of J. Snell, Ahiaruhi, on Saturday, the 19th day of September, 1891, upon the proposal to raise a loan under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” of £2,500, for construction of Kokotau Bridge and connecting-roads, and to levy a special rate of 33-40ths of a penny in the pound upon the properties specially benefited thereby (such being included in the Kokotau Bridge Special-rating District) for the purpose of paying the interest or instalments thereon, viz. :—
Total number of ratepayers, 14; total number of votes, 37; for the proposal, 9 ratepayers, 24 votes; against the proposal, 1 ratepayer, 5 votes.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I hereby declare the said proposal and resolution duly carried.

PANCAKE CREEK.—NEW LEADING-MARKS TO ENTER.
NOTICE is hereby given that two new triangular leading beacons have been erected at Pancake Creek. The beacons are about 250 yards apart, and when in line, bearing S. ¾ W., lead into the anchorage carrying not less than 10ft. at low water, clearing the spit off the N.W. Head.
Anchor with the beacons a little open to the southward, the boatshed bearing E.S.E.

PORT CURTIS.—ALTERATION IN NORTH CHANNEL.
NOTICE is hereby given that, owing to the changes which have taken place at the western end of the North Channel, vessels in passing between the Junction and Red Buoys must now keep the Apparent Light on the Oyster Rock in line with the Main Light on Gatcombe Head, bearing N. by E. ½ E. easterly.
This lead marks the centre of the present channel, which is about 130 yards wide and has a depth of 21ft. at low-water springs.
