NOTICE is hereby given that at a poll of the ratepayers,
taken on Saturday, the 8th August, 1891, under section 37 of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," on the
proposal to raise a loan of £600 for the purpose of increasing
the water-supply of the borough, the following was the result
of the poll:-

Total number of voters who polled .. .. 49

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

GERALDINE COUNTY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL ORDER.

AT a special meeting of the Council of the County of
Geraldine, held at the Council's office, Timaru, on
Saturday, the 20th day of June, 1891, the following resolutions were passed, viz:-

1. "That in pursuance of the powers vested in it by 'The
   Counties Act, 1886,' and in accordance with the prayer of
   the petition of William Walker and others presented to the
   Council, bearing date the 9th day of May, 1891, this Council
   doth hereby enlarge the limits of the irrigation district
   within the Geraldine County called or known as the Waitohi Flat Water-supply District, so as to include and extend
   to the boundaries described and defined in the said petition,
   that is to say, all that portion of the said county commencing at the south-westernmost corner of Rural Section
   10513; thence north-easterly along the north-west boundary
   of said Section 10513 to the north-westernmost corner thereof; thence north-westerly to the southernmost corner of
   Reserve 940; thence north-westerly along the south-west
   boundary of Reserve 940 to the westernmost corner thereof;
   thence easterly along the north boundary of Reserve 940 to
   the westernmost corner of Rural Section 11454; thence
   south-easterly along south-west boundary of Rural Section
   11454 to the south-west corner thereof; thence north-
   easterly along south-east boundary of 11454 to the south-
   west corner thereof; thence north-westerly along north-
   east boundary of Rural Section 11454 to the north-
