A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the one hundred and ninety-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of sections one hundred and ninety-eight to two hundred and nineteen of Part VII. of “The Land Act, 1885,” relating to small grazing-runs.

SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—CLOUDY BAY SURVEY DISTRICT.

Run No. 25, Waitohi Valley, 1,300 acres.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley, in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the two hundred and sixty-seventh section of “The Counties Act, 1886,” and at the request of the Selwyn County Council, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the lands described in the Schedule hereto to be water-races, as defined by the two hundred and sixty-sixth section of the said Act, to be known by the name of the Ellesmere Water-races Extension; and, further, that the Rivers Rakaia and Hororata, in the County of Selwyn, shall be the streams which may be taken for supplying the said water-races.

SCHEDULE.

WATER-RACE EXTENSIONS, ELLESMERE WATER-RACE DISTRICT.

Beach Race.

ALL that area, 25 links in width, situated in the Selwyn, Hurstt, and Southbridge Survey Districts, commencing at Rakaia Main Race, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 57, 18th October, 1888, in Section 34039, Selwyn Survey District; and proceeding generally south-easterly through the said Section 34039, across a road and through Sections 36266 and 34037, again through Section 36266, across a road and through Sections 36267, 25465, 33491, 25408, 18364, 23208, 21875, and 17903, along the road forming the eastern boundary of Section 17903, and across the said road and through Sections 24242 and 24243, across a road and through Section 33593, across a road and through Section 33633, and along the road forming the north-eastern boundary of the said Section 33633, and through Sections 33633 and 14527, across a road and through Sections 14527 and 14526, across a road and through Sections 14527 and 10777, across a road and through Section 10778, across a road and through Section 10751, across a road and through Reserves 1243 and 1185, along the road fronting Reserve 1185, and through Section 10779, across a road and through Sections 10412 and 7091, and along the road on the south-west side of Reserve 1377 and Section 14560, across the said road and along the road on the north-east and south-east of Section 10368, across that road and along its south-east side, and through Sections 10289, 9496, 8851, 12297, and 8851 (aforesaid), 7232, 3337, 3338, 8842, 8046, 8842 (aforesaid), across a road and through Sections 8284, 14047, 14048, and 9266, across a road and through Sections 9267, 3342, 9267 (aforesaid), 9308, and 9294 to the beach.

Gabbie’s Branch Race.

All that area, 25 links in width, situated in the Hurstt and Southbridge Survey Districts, commencing at Beach Race, hereinbefore described, in Section 8851, Hurstt Survey District; and proceeding generally south-easterly through Sections 8851, 7232, and 3339, across a road and through Sections 8046 and 8842, across a road and through Sections 6982, 3324, 3343, and 7233, across a road and through Sections 8286, 7775, and 7773, and again through Sections 7775 and 7773 aforesaid to a gully in the last-mentioned section.

White’s Branch Race.

All that area, 25 links in width, situate in the Hurstt and Southbridge Survey Districts, commencing at Beach Race,
