Rural Lands open for Sale or Selection, Auckland Land District.

THE under-mentioned Crown lands will be open for sale
or selection, in terms of sections 3 to 11 of "The Land
Act Amendment, 1887," either for cash, on deferred pay-
ments, or for perpetual lease, at the option of the selector,
on and after Wednesday, the 16th September, 1891. In
cases where more than one application is received for the
same section, priority of choice will be decided by lot on the
following day, at 11 a.m., at the Crown Lands Office, Auck-
land:—

mixed bush on each, remainder open land, inferior soil,
about 5 acres in each section covered with rough grass.

Sections 1 to 8, undulating fair land, covered generally with
high tea-tree; the remainder are open and high tea-tree
lands, with patches of mixed bush on each lot. These lands
lie between the Wairoa and Arapaoa Rivers, and can only be
said to be really accessible by water.

All these sections consist of about one-third mixed bush,
the remainder being tea-tree, with a little rough grass
scattered over the lots; the soil generally is rather inferior.
Access is gained by water, the lands being adjacent to the
Wairoa River.

Whangarei County.—Purua Survey District.

Section 3, only 5 acres of dry land, the remainder being
kahikatea, rush, raupo, and flax swamp; 4, open fern land,
light volcanic soil, covered with stones. The only access to
these lots is through Crown lands. Section 18, principally
stony land, covered in scrappy bush scorched by fire; 19,
about 40 acres good soil, covered with mixed bush, remainder
more or less swampy. The only access to these sections is
through Crown land.

Whangarei County.—Parish of Ruatangata.

Reform Act, 1886," notice is hereby given that for the
Senior Examination of January, 1892, the period of litera-
ture will be the period of the Commonwealth, and the special
books will be Shakespeare's King Lear and The Tempest.
