Vesting Control of the Taungatara Traffic-bridge in the
Hawera County Council.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section four of “The Public Works Acts
Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the
said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may,
upon the terms and conditions in the said section men-
tioned, by Proclamation publicly notified, direct that any
bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be
constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea
respectively, shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such
Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of such local authority as shall be mentioned
in that behalf in such Proclamation:
And whereas it is expedient that the control and manage-
ment of the bridge described in the Schedule hereto should
be vested in the manner hereinafter described:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
the said Act, and of every other power and authority in any-
wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the
bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and known as the
Taungatara Traffic-bridge, shall, from and after the thirty-
first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
one, be under the exclusive care, control, and management
of the Hawera County Council; and I do hereby fix and
determine that the Hawera County Council shall itself pro-
vide out of its own funds one-half of the cost of managing
and maintaining the said bridge; and that the Taranaki
County Council shall, on demand in writing from the
Hawera County Council, from time to time pay to the said
Council one-half of the actual cost of managing and main-
taining the said bridge.
SCHEDULE.
That bridge on the Taungatara Stream known as the Taunga-
tara Traffic-bridge, and the approaches on each side thereof,
situated on the Eltham Road, and partly in Taranaki County
and partly in Hawera County, Provincial District of
Taranaki; as the same is delineated on the plan marked
S.G. 12673A, deposited in the General Survey Office, at Wel-
ington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon
coloured red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of
Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley,
of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron
Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and
of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron
Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal
of the said Colony, at the Government House,
at Wellington, this twenty-third day of July, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and ninety-one.

Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of Roads over
Lands in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Hillier, Earl of
Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule
hereto have been taken and laid off through the lands speci-
fied, under warrants of the date given, in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 0·9 perch, situate in the Waihou
Survey District, being a portion of a road, of irregular
width, traversing the south-eastern corner of the Rau-o-te-
Huia No. 2 Block (No. 4330, in red); commencing at a point
on the south-eastern boundary-line of the aforesaid block at
a distance of 22 links or thereabouts from its southern-
most angle; and bounded towards the south-east by a line,
22 links; towards the south-west by a line, 60 links; and
towards the north by a line, 72 links, to the commencing-
point: as the same is delineated on Map No. 3822, deposited
in the Survey Office, Auckland.
Date of Governor's warrant, 15th November, 1883.
All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 1 rood 20 perches, more or less,
situate in the Waihou Survey District, being a road, 65
links wide and upwards, lying along the Waihou River,
and within the Rangihapara Block (No. 3730, in red), the
eastern boundary of which commences at a point on the
southern boundary of the aforesaid block at a distance of 65
links or thereabouts from the said Waihou River; and
proceeds northerly for a distance of 570 links or there-
abouts to the Rau-o-te-Huia Block, at a distance of 70 links
or thereabouts from the Waihou River.
Also all that parcel of land in the Auckland Land Dis-
trict, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 23 perches, more
or less, situate in the Waihou Survey District, being a road,
