Time for Preparation of Roll under Gold Duty Abolition
and Mining Property Rating Act extended, Pictori Road
District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day
of June, 1891.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Board of the Pictori Road District,
in the County of Marlborough, having by accident
failed to appoint a Valuer or Valuers for the purpose of
determining the value of mining property in the Pictori
Road District, and the said Board having for a like reason
failed to make the valuation of such property in the month
of January last past, as required by section seven of "The
Gold Duty Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act, 1890,"
it is expedient to extend the time for making such appoint-
ment and preparing the said roll as hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in order that the purpose and intent of
"The Gold Duty Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act,
1890," may have effect, and in pursuance and exercise of the
powers vested in him by "The Rating Act, 1882," which said
Act is incorporated with the first above-mentioned Act, and
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time for the
appointment of a Valuer or Valuers, and for the preparation
of the valuation-roll for the Pictori Road District, under
"The Gold Duty Abolition and Mining Property Rating Act,
1890," so that such appointment shall be made and such roll
prepared on or before the twentieth day of July, one thou-
sand eight hundred and ninety-one, and that notice shall be
given to each occupier, by such Valuer or Valuers, of the
rateable value determined by him or them, as required by
subsection three of section seven of the last-mentioned Act,
on or before the twenty-first day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-one.

Extending Time for holding Special Meeting of Whakatane
County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day
of June, 1891.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and eighty-four of
"The Counties Act, 1886," it is enacted that each
County Council shall hold a special meeting to consider the
balance-sheet and statements of county accounts during the
month of May in each year: And whereas the balance-sheet
and statement of accounts of the County of Whakatane was
not forwarded to the Chairman of the Council of the said
County by the Auditor until after the thirty-first day of May
last past, and have not been considered by the said County
Council, and it is therefore expedient to extend the time
within which a special meeting for the aforesaid purpose can
be held:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers
vested in him by the said "Counties Act, 1886," and by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby extend the time for holding a
special meeting of the Whakatane County Council for the
purpose of considering the balance-sheet and statement of
accounts of the county, and doth declare that the said
special meeting may be held on or before the eleventh day
of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.

*Fixing Fees under "Coroners Act Amendment Act, 1888."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day
of June, 1891.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by
"The Coroners Act Amendment Act, 1888," His Excel-
lency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby rescind the Order in Council dated
the eleventh day of September, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-eight, fixing fees under the said Act, and doth
hereby order and appoint that, instead of the sums men-
tioned in the Third Schedule to "The Coroners Act, 1867,"
or the said Order in Council, there shall be paid in respect
of all inquests held on and after the date whereon this Order
in Council comes into force the fees specified in the Schedule
hereto; provided that the actual travelling-expenses of a
Coroner incurred in holding an inquest may be paid in lieu
of mileage fees in any case, at the discretion of the Minister
of Justice. This Order in Council shall come into force and
take effect on and after the first day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-one.

SCHEDULE.

To the Coroner or Justice of the Peace other than £ s. d.

required so to do by the Coroner or Justice of

residence of such medical witness shall be
more than one mile distant from the place

Fixing License-fees for Watermen's Boats, etc., Manukau
Harbour.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day
of June, 1891.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is enacted by section two hundred and
fifteen of "The Harbours Act, 1878," that every
Harbour Board shall have power from time to time, by by-laws
made thereunder, to, inter alia, fix the fees to be paid for
licensing tugs, cargo-boats, lighters, whether decked or
undecked, and whether propelled by steam or not, and
other vessels and boats plying for hire either for goods or
passengers, within the harbour or any part of the sea
adjacent thereto:

And whereas by the twelfth section of the said Act it is
enacted that, in harbours where there is no Harbour Board,
the Governor in Council shall have all the powers, functions,
duties, and authorities by that Act conferred upon Harbour
Boards, and may exercise the same in accordance with the
said Act:

And whereas there is no Harbour Board for the Harbour of
Manukau, and it is desirable that the by-law hereinafter
set forth should be made for that harbour:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
