Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

Patent Office,
Wellington, 28th May, 1891.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the under-men-
tioned applications for Letters Patent have been
accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office.
Any person may, at any time within two months from the
date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing, in duplicate,
of opposition to the grant of any such patent, stating in
such notice the particular grounds of his objection. A fee
of 10s. is payable with such notice:—

No. 4986.—JAMES WALTER OLIVER, of Greenstreet, Canter-
bury, New Zealand, Mechanical Engineer. An invention
for a relieved rotary slide-valve for a cut-off valve for steam-
engine governors or other purposes, to be called "The Oliver
Governor Valve." (Specification, 4s.; drawing, 3s.)

No. 4987.—WILLIAM WHITE MANSFIELD, of Martin Street,
Wellington, New Zealand, Draper. An invention for im-
provements in hose-reels, to be called "Mansfield's Patent
Ever-ready Hose-reel." (Specification, 3s. 6d.; drawings,
10s.)

No. 4988.—JAMES HILLS HARTBRIDGE, of Ryland Road,
Middlesex, England, Manufacturing Chemist and Soap-
maker. An invention for improvements in boxes. (Specifi-

No. 4989.—ROBERT COCKERELL, of Invercargill, New Zea-
land, Blacksmith. An invention entitled "R. Cockerell's
Patent Drag Anchor Picks for Dredging and other Pur-
poses." (Specification, 1s. 6d.)

No. 4990.—WILLIAM CHARLES PAGE, of Ashburton, Can-
terbury, New Zealand, Carpenter. An invention for a wire-
strainer to strain wire without boring holes in the straining-
post, to be called "Page's Patent Speedy Wire-strainer."

New Zealand, Miner. An invention for improvements in

Zealand, Farmer. An invention for a combined potato-
raiser and scarifier for the purpose of raising potatoes from
the soil, and tillage for carrots, turnips, beans, mangolds,
and all crops where scarifiers are used between the ridges
in which the plants grow, to be called "Ewen's Patent
Combined Potato-raiser and Scarifier." (Specification, 3s.;

Sydney, New South Wales, Railway-signalman, and WILLIAM
ROWE, of Marrickville, near Sydney aforesaid, Railway In-
terlocking-gear Mechanician. An invention for improve-
ments in telegraph block systems of railway-traffic control.
