thirty of the " The Public Works Act, 1882," and in exercise
of every other power and authority in anyway enabling me
in that behalf, do hereby revoke the said Proclamation in so
far only as it relates to a portion of the middle line of rail-
way defined therein and delineated on the plan referred to
therein marked P.W.D. 6911, which said portion commences
at a point about eleven miles forty-eight chains thirty-six
links, and ends at a point about fourteen miles forty-seven
chains twenty-nine links, as shown on the said plan; and
in lieu thereof do hereby proclaim and declare that the
middle line of the said railway situated between the points
aforesaid shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule
hereto ; and it is hereby declared that a note of the altera-
tion hereby made shall be indorsed on the plan P.W.D 6911
aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at the said point situated as above described
about 11 miles 48 chains 36 links on the middle line of the
Greymouth to Hokitika Railway, as defined by the above-
mentioned Proclamation dated the 11th day of June, 1879,
and delineated on the said plan referred to therein marked
P.W.D. 6911; proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly
direction for a distance of about 62 chains; thence generally
in a south-easterly direction for a distance of about 40 chains;
and thence again generally in a north-easterly direction for
a distance of about 164 chains (total length about 3 miles
26 chains); passing in, into, through or over the following
lands, viz.: Educational Endowment Reserve No. 129,
Crown lands, Rural Sections Nos. 2002 and 1999, and
Reserve No. 353; and terminating at the said point situated
as also above described about 14 miles 47 chains 29 links on
the middle line of the said railway as defined by the said
Proclamation dated the 11th June, 1879, and delineated on
the said plan P.W.D. 6911; including all intervening places,
roads, rivers, streams, and watercourses ; all in the Waima
Survey District, in the Provincial District of Westland; in
the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D 16475, in
the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, a
copy of which is deposited in the office of the Registrar of
the Supreme Court at Hokitika, in the said Provincial Dis-
trict of Westland.

Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley,
of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron
Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and
of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron
Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal
of the said Colony, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this third day of January, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-one.

A PROCLAMATION.
COLONY OF NEW ZEALAND,
TO WIT.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New
Zealand intituled "The Prisons Act, 1882," it is
enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation published
in the Gazette, declare that such police-stations as he shall
name therein shall be police-gaols :
And whereas it is desirable to proclaim the police-station
at Timaru, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, to be a
police-gaol :
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of
the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare
that the said building shall be a police-gaol from and after
the appearance of this Proclamation in the Gazette.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of
Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley,
of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron
Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New
Zealand intituled "The Prisons Act, 1882," it is
enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation in the
New Zealand Gazette, declare that any prison shall no longer
be a prison ; and upon the gazetting of such Proclamation,
or from and after any later date fixed in such Proclamation
for the purpose, such prison shall cease to be a prison :
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the
above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that
from and after the gazetting of this Proclamation the prison
at Timaru, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, shall
cease to be a prison.
