No. 4319.—JOSIAH CLIFTON FIRTH, of Auckland, New Zealand, Miller. An invention for an insulator, to be called "Firth's Patent Pumice Insulator."
The applicant desires to amend the last page of his specification, viz., the one containing the claims, in the following manner, and gives as his reasons "to make the claims more distinct:"—

By inserting immediately after the words "I declare that what I claim is" the following words, viz., "First. Forming a non-conducting or heat-insulating covering for diminishing the transmission of heat through the walls of structures of various kinds, wherein the covering is composed of pumice-stone prepared and packed between the inner and outer walls of such structures substantially as herein described."

By striking out the word "First," in the fourth line, and substituting therefor the words "Second."

By striking out the word "composition," in the fifth line, and inserting instead the words "compositions or materials."

By striking out the words "either by packing it between an inner and an outer wall or otherwise and," in the seventh and eighth lines.

By striking out the word "Second," in the seventeenth line, and inserting in place thereof the word "Third."

By striking out the word "Third," in the twentieth line, and substituting therefor the word "Fourth."

No. 4983.—ROBERT MOORHEAD, of Southbridge, Canterbury, New Zealand, and JOHN MOORHEAD, of Ashburton, Canterbury aforesaid, Threshing-mill Owners. An invention for improvements in chaff-blowers for automatically removing chaff from combine threshing-machines.
No. 4984.—HERBERT CHARLES HAUCHARD, of Auckland, New Zealand, Gentleman. An invention for gold-saving appliance, to be called "Simplex Gold-saver."
No. 4985.—WILLIAM ISAAC SPENCER, of Napier, New Zealand, Surgeon. An invention for improvements in, and apparatus for, manufacturing iron from ironsand.
