Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

Patent Office,
Wellington, 14th May, 1891.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the under-men-
tioned applications for Letters Patent have been
accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office.
Any person may, at any time within two months from the
date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing, in duplicate,
of opposition to the grant of any such patent, stating in
such notice the particular grounds of his objection. A fee
of 10s. is payable with such notice:—
No. 4970.—THOMAS WHITE, of Rangiora, New Zealand,
Coachbuilder. An invention for simplex springs for two-
wheeled vehicles. (Specification, 2s.; drawings, 3s.)
No. 4972.—JOSIAH CLIFTON FIRTH, of Auckland, New Zea-
land, Gentleman. An invention for a new process or method
for cleaning kauri gum. (Specification, 4s.)
No. 4974.—RICHARD TODD, of 13, Mason Street, Man-
chester, Lancaster, England, Embroiderer. An invention
for improvements in sewing-machine attachments for facili-
tating the stitching of button-holes and for other purposes.

No. 4976.—ROBERT WILLIAM RUTHERFORD, of Caversham,
Otago, New Zealand, Photographer. An invention for New

land, Mechanical Engineer. An invention for a new or im-
proved method of manufacturing malleable-iron castings.

neer. An invention for an improved method of, and appara-
tus for, raising sunken vessels, and to prevent vessels from

Box Manufacturer. An invention for an improved spade for
agricultural purposes. (Specification, 1s.)

Lancaster, England, Glass Manufacturer. An invention for
improvements in apparatus for automatically supplying dis-
infectant liquids to water-closets, urinals, and the like.

Street, Melbourne, Victoria, Engineer, ROBERT HANNA,
of 18, Market Street, Melbourne, aforesaid, Importer,
THOMAS HOLROYD, of Barkly Street, Brunswick, near Mel-
bourne, aforesaid, Draughtsman, and HENRY ARTHUR
WHEAT, of Union Lane, Little Collins Street, Melbourne,
aforesaid, Engineer. An invention for an improved lamp for
burning gasoline and other light liquid hydro-carbons.

land, Mechanical Engineer. An invention entitled "The
Safety Swingle-tree and Mountings," for uncoupling traces
of buggies and other vehicles from runaway horses instan-
taneously. (Specification, 6s.; drawings, 10s.)
No. 4981.—THOMAS PEACOCK, of Auckland, New Zealand,
Optician. An invention for an improved case for winding
narrow steel bands, and means of rendering them available
for link-measurements. (Specification, 6s.; drawings, 7s. 6d.)
No. 4982.—PERCY ADOLPHUS VAILE, Solicitor, and
WILLIAM VAILE, Draper, both of Auckland, New Zealand.
An invention for Vaile's patent roller-eyelet, for the more
speedy lacing of boots, shoes, corsets, surgical appliances, &c.
