Particulars of Grant or Instrument containing Restrictions. Description of Lands.
Native Land Court order in favour of Aperahama Mira, Ropata Tangahoe, Hiniri Tangahoe, Wi Parata te Kahakura, and Heipiri Riki, dated 6th April, 1888, and containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable, except with the consent of the Governor, by sale or mortgage, or by lease for a longer period than twenty-one years.” Te Puka Native Reserve, Wellington, containing 60 acres.

Declaring a Portion of the Woodville to Palmerston Road to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of April, 1891.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the portion of the Woodville to Palmerston Road, described in the Schedule below, shall, on and after the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of the Woodville-Palmerston Road which commences at the Manawatu Gorge Bridge, on the left bank of the Manawatu River, and proceeds in a westerly direction through the Counties of Pahiatua and Oroua respectively for a distance of four and a half miles, more or less, to the bridge over the Manawatu River, at the Lower Ferry; as the same is delineated on plan marked S.G. 11620, deposited in the General Survey Office, at Wellington, and thereon marked in red.

Powers delegated to the Danevirk Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of April, 1891.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the sixteenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth, with the like advice and consent, by this present order, delegate, but only with respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Danevirk Public Domain Board, namely,—

FREDERICK ELMBRANCH,
JAMES ALLERDICE,
GEORGE WRATT, and
ANGUS MACKAY

(hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the second Wednesday in each month, at half-past seven o’clock p.m., at the Schoolhouse, Danevirk, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the tenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 40 acres, more or less, being Suburban Section No. 12 on the map of Danevirk. Bounded towards the north, east, and south-east by the Mangatera River; towards the south-west by Section No. 11, 3600 links; towards the north-west by the main road from Woodville to Napier, 116 and 302 links; and towards the north-east by Christian Street to the south-west boundary of Section No. 13, and by Section No. 13 to the Mangatera River.

Amending Life-saving Appliances Rules.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of April, 1891.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is, among other things, enacted by section one hundred and sixty-nine of “The Shipping and Seamen’s Act, 1877” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), that every ship shall be provided with efficient boats, rafts, or other appliances for saving life, kept at all times fit and ready for use, and supplied with all requisites for use, sufficient in number, and of the size and description proper for such ship, according to rules which may be fixed by the Governor in Council:

And whereas it is provided by section three hundred and six of the said Act that the Governor may, by Order in Council, from time to time revoke, alter, or add to any order previously made under the said Act:

And whereas by Order in Council dated the sixteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighteenth day of the same month, the rules set forth in the Schedule to the said order were made defining the boats, rafts, or other appliances for saving life with which ships are to be provided:

And whereas it is desirable to make the alterations in the said rules set forth in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby make the alterations as set forth in the Schedule hereto, in the rules which were fixed and prescribed by the said Order in Council of the sixteenth day of September aforesaid, and doth hereby order that this order and the alterations hereby made shall come into force on and after the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette.
