RESULT OF POLL FOR PROPOSED LOAN, £4,500, FOR EXTENSION OF THE ARGYLE WATER-RACE, CHARLESTON, BULLER COUNTY.
THE following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the Riding of Charleston, Buller County, taken on the 18th April, 1891, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £4,500, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” for the purpose of the extension of the Argyle Water-race, Charleston:—
Number of ratepayers on roll 268, representing 268 votes; number of votes recorded for the proposal, 145; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 17; informal votes, 2.
As the number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal represented a majority of the number of votes on the roll, and as the number so voting in favour of the proposal are entitled to more than one-half the number of votes which could be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

NOTICE OF POLL.
PROPOSAL to borrow £2,000, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” to construct road from Riverton to Colac Bay:—
I, Reginald Mackinnon, Chairman of the County Council of Wallace, do hereby notify the result of the poll of ratepayers in the Orepuki Riding, taken on the 26th March, 1891, on the above proposal, to be as follows:—
Number of ratepayers on roll, 435; number of votes exercisable, 442. There voted in favour of the proposal 87 voters, representing 87 votes; there voted against the proposal 34 voters, representing 34 votes.
As less than one-half the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, I do hereby declare the proposal to be rejected.

COUNTY OF WAIRARAPA NORTH.
RESULT of a poll taken at Tiraumea, on the 11th April, 1891, upon a proposal to raise a loan, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” of £200, for forming a road through Section 137, Block X., Puketoi Survey District:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll 3, representing 10 votes; number of ratepayers who voted in favour of the proposal 2, representing 6 votes; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, nil.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I declare the said proposal to be carried.

THE following special order, made by the Mauriceville Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.
THAT, to secure the repayment of a loan of £1,600, borrowed under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and Amendment Act, 1889, for the purpose of constructing Dryer’s Rock Road Extension and Wangaehu Road, a special rate of 3½d. in the pound be made and levied on the rateable value of the following sections: 16 and 19, Block II.; 14, 13, 12, 11, and 10, Block III.; 103, Blocks III. and VII.; 208 and 209, Block VI.; 106 and 118, Block VII.; all in the Kopuaranga Survey District: together with the thirds accruing from sections within the above area. Such special rate shall be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, or until the loan is repaid; and shall be paid in two half-yearly instalments on the 1st January and the 1st July in each year.
I certify that the above special order has been duly made in accordance with section 29 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

SPECIAL ORDER.
RESOLVED, That so much of the Rimutauteka Block as comprised in the Waitara West Road District be annexed to the Moa Road District, both of these Boards having consented thereto; and that a special meeting be held on the 2nd December for the purpose of adopting this resolution.
Description of block, known as Rimutauteka, proposed to be taken out of the Waitara West Road District, and merged into the Moa Road District: Being Sections Nos. 1 to 13, 20, and parts of Sections Nos. 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18, Block XIII., Waitara Survey District, and parts of Sections Nos. 56 and 57, Block I., Huiroa Survey District. Bounded on the east by the Manganui Stream, from where the Kurapete joins it to Section No. 182; thence by Sections Nos. 182, 183, and 181, Huirangi District; on the north by Sections Nos. 169, 167, 166, 210, 211, 209, 148, 134, 133, and 207, Huirangi District; on the west by Sections Nos. 221, 230, 223, and 238, Moa District; and on the south by the Kurapete Stream to the commencement at Manganui.
Confirmed at meeting on the 7th January, 1891.
