Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, County of Manawatu.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Manawatu County Council, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

THE following is the result of a poll taken on the 21st March, 1891, on a proposal to raise a loan of £1,750, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and amendments, for the purpose of—(a) Forming and metalling the unfinished portion of the Campbelltown-Longburn Road, and half share of constructing a bridge over the Oroua River at termination of the said road (Campbell Riding), £1,100; (b) metalling unfinished portion of the Taipo-Awahuri Road (Waitohi Riding), £250; (c) metalling on Sandon-Carnarvon Road (Carnarvon and Kawakawa Ridings), £400: total, £1,750:—

Number of ratepayers on roll, 185; number of votes exercisable, 259; number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 102; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, 1; number of votes recorded for the proposal, 137; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 1.

As a majority in number of the ratepayers have voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I hereby declare the resolution carried.
