THE following special order, made by the Moa Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Moa Road Board, in the County of Taranaki, at a Special Meeting of the Board, on Monday, 2nd March, 1891.

THAT, to secure the repayment of a loan of £1,200, borrowed under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming the Junction and Bristol Roads, a special rate of ⅜d. in the pound be made and levied on all rateable property within the Junction Road Special Rating District, bounded as follows: Towards the north by the Kurapete Stream, from the Mountain Road to the Manganui River; thence by the Manganui River to the Waitara River; towards the west by the Mountain Road, from the Kurapete Stream to the Ngatoro-iti Stream; towards the south by the Ngatoro-iti Stream, from the Mountain Road to the Ngatoro Stream; thence by the Ngatoro Stream to the north-eastern corner of Section 35, Moa; thence by the division-line between Sections 35 and 36, and Sections 48 and 49, Moa, to the Makatawa Stream; thence by the Makatawa Stream to the northern corner of Section 65, Moa; thence by the division-line between Sections 65 and 66, and Sections 65 and 67, Moa, to the Norfolk Road; thence by the Norfolk Road to the Suffolk Road; thence by the Suffolk Road to the Mangamawhiti Stream; thence by the Mangamawhiti Stream to the Manganui River; thence by the Manganui River to the north-western corner of Block VI., Huiroa Survey District; thence by the northern boundary of Block VI., Huiroa, to the north-eastern corner of the said Block VI., Huiroa; thence by the division-line between Blocks VI. and VII., Huiroa, to the Kupara Road; thence by the Kupara Road to the Miro Road; thence by the Miro Road to where it touches the southernmost corner of Section 59, Block III., Huiroa; thence by the southern boundary of Block III., Huiroa, to the Waitara River; towards the east by the Waitara River to its junction with the Manganui River. Said rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years or until the loan is paid off, and shall be payable in two half-yearly instalments, on the 1st January and 1st July in each year.

I hereby certify that the above special order has been made by the Moa Road Board in accordance with the terms of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special order, made by the Mauriceville Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT, to secure the repayment of a loan of £300, borrowed under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and Amendment Act, 1889, for the purpose of felling and forming Mount Munro Road East, a special rate of 5¼d. in the pound be made and levied on the rateable value for the time being of Sections Nos. 173, 175, and 176, Block XIII., Mangaone, and Section No. 10, Block I., Kopuaranga. Such special rate shall be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years or until the loan is repaid, and shall be paid in two half-yearly instalments, on the 1st January and the 1st July in each year.

I certify that the above special order has been duly made.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, County of Waitotara.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Waitotara County Council, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

RESULT of the poll taken on the 27th February, 1891, on a proposal to borrow £2,000, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” to rebuild the Waitotara Bridge:—

Number of ratepayers on roll, 368; total number of votes exercisable, 583; votes recorded in favour of the loan by 98 ratepayers, 207; against, nil; informal, 1.

The number of ratepayers voting being less than half the total number on the roll, and less than half the votes exercisable being recorded in favour of the proposal, I therefore declare the proposal rejected.

WHATAUPOKO ROAD BOARD.

I HEREBY give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers in a special district, comprised between Sections 7 to 25F, North Gisborne, the following votes were recorded:—

For the proposal to borrow £200 for works on Riverside Road 11 voters, exercising 11 votes; against the proposal, nil. Total number on the roll 16 persons, having 16 votes.

As a majority of voters voted in favour of the proposal, I declare it carried.

THE following Notices to Mariners, received from the Marine Boards, Sydney, New South Wales, and Port Adelaide, South Australia, are published for general information.

For the Minister having charge of the Marine Department.

NEW SOUTH WALES, } UNDER and by virtue of the powers to wit. } conferred upon us by the Navigation Acts of 1871–1881, we, the Marine Board of New South Wales, hereby make the following harbour regulation, that is to say:—

We hereby order and direct that no ship or other description of vessel whatsoever shall be permitted to anchor in the vicinity of a straight line drawn between the north-western portion of Dawes’ Point and the south-western portion of Milson’s Point, in Port Jackson, or otherwise endanger the fresh-water pipes which connect these places for the supply of the inhabitants of North Sydney.

For the violation or infringement of this regulation a penalty of not exceeding fifty pounds will be incurred.

The common seal of the Marine Board of New South Wales was hereto affixed, this 9th day of February, 1891.

NOTICE is hereby given that six black cross-head beacons have been placed off the north bank between Torrens Island and Light’s Passage.

These beacons mark the limit of silt-deposit.

Masters and pilots of vessels are cautioned not to go within the line of beacons.
