Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Borough of Brunner.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Brunner, is published in accordance with “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886.”

RESULT of poll taken on the 9th instant, in accordance with section 184 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” to decide whether a special loan of £1,500 may or may not be raised to pay off the award of the Auditor-General in favour of the Grey County Council:—

Number of votes on special burgess roll, 331; number of votes polled in favour of loan, 170; number of burgesses on special roll, 291; number of burgesses polled in favour of loan, 148.

As the majority of the burgesses exercising more than one-half the total number of votes being in favour of the proposal, I declare it to be carried.

RESULT OF POLL, MAIN ROAD LOAN, NORTH END OF TOWNSHIP OF PAHIATUA.

THE following is the result of a poll taken on the 25th October, 1890, on a proposal to borrow £150, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming, metalling, and otherwise improving the main road, north end :—

Number of ratepayers on roll 13, representing 13 votes; number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 10; votes not recorded, 3.

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

RESULT OF POLL, MAIN ROAD LOAN, SOUTH END OF TOWNSHIP.

THE following is the result of a poll taken on the 15th November, 1890, on a proposal to borrow £500, under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming, metalling, and otherwise improving the main road through the Township of Pahiatua, south end :—

Number of ratepayers on roll 59, representing 59 votes; number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 32; votes not recorded, 27.

The votes in favour being more than half the votes recordable, I declare the proposal carried.

RESULT OF POLL, MASTERON-MANGAHAO LOAN.

THE following is the result of the poll taken on the 29th November, 1890, on a proposal to borrow £2,000, under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for road-works in the Masterton-Mangahao Block:—

Number of ratepayers on roll 121, representing 121 votes; number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 76; votes not recorded, 45.

The votes recorded in favour of the proposal being more than one-half the votes recordable, I declare the proposal carried.

RESULT OF POLL, MAKURI GORGE ROAD LOAN.

THE following is the result of the poll taken on the 29th November, 1890, on a proposal to borrow £2,500, under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for forming, metalling, and bridging the Makuri Gorge Road from Makuri Bridge site eastwards to the Makuri township:—

Number of ratepayers on roll 47, representing 53 votes; number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 29; number of votes not recorded, 24.

The votes recorded in favour of the proposal being more than one-half the votes recordable, I declare the proposal carried.

THE following is the result of a poll taken on the 6th December, 1890, on a proposal to borrow £500 for forming and metalling the Makuri Valley Road :—

Number of ratepayers on roll, 10; number of votes in favour of the proposal, 3; against, 1; votes not recorded, 6.

The number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal being less than half the votes recordable, I declare the proposal lost.

RESULT OF POLL, UPPER TIRAUMEA VALLEY ROAD LOAN.

THE following is the result of a poll taken on the 13th December, 1890, on a proposal to borrow £550, under the provisions of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for forming and bridging the Upper Tiraumea Valley Road from the Pahiatua-Puketoi Association to the southern boundary of the Pahiatua County :—

Number of ratepayers on roll 11, representing 11 votes; number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal, 6; votes not recorded, 5.

The votes in favour being more than one-half the votes recordable, I declare the proposal carried.

THE following special order, made by the Upper Wangaehu Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

THAT a special order be made levying a special rate of 2½d. in the pound of the capital value of all property situated within that portion of the Upper Wangaehu Road District bounded by a line commencing at the south-west corner of Run 62, Mangawhero Survey District; thence northwards and westwards by Hales’s Murimotu Road and the northern boundary of Run 45, Ngamatea Survey District, to the Wangaehu River; thence northwards by the Wangaehu River to the Koukopu Stream; thence north-easterly by a right line to the south-east corner of the Taumarua Block; thence eastwards by the southern boundary of the Murimotu Run to the eastern boundary of the road district; thence southwards, westwards, and southwards by the eastern boundaries of the road district to the southern boundary of Mr. William Lilburn’s section; thence westwards by the southern boundaries of Messrs. Lilburn Brothers’ sections to the starting-point; such rate to be leviable on all property within the said district liable to be specially rated under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and their amendments, and to be for the purpose of providing interest and sinking fund for a loan of £5,000 obtained under the provisions of the said Acts, and shall be an annually-recurring rate, leviable, if required, year by year, commencing on the 1st day of May, 1891, and on the same day of each year following until the loan in respect of which the said rate is made is paid off.

I hereby certify that a special order, of which the above is a copy, was duly passed in accordance with the provisions of sections 75 and 76 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” at a
