New Zealand Delegates to the Australasian Federation Convention.

THE under-mentioned gentlemen have been appointed to represent New Zealand at the Australasian Federation Conference to be held in Sydney, New South Wales, on the 2nd March, 1891:—

The Hon. Sir HARRY ALBERT ATKINSON, K.C.M.G., Speaker of the Legislative Council,

Sir GEORGE GREY, K.C.B., and

WILLIAM RUSSELL RUSSELL, Esq., a Member of the House of Representatives.

Appointment of Officer under “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,” for Southland District.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section 9 of “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,”

JAMES F. COLLINS

has been appointed an Officer for the purposes of that Act for that portion of the Provincial District of Otago formerly known as the Province of Southland.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section 9 of “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884,”

ALEXANDER SMAILL, of Peninsula,
JOHN SANDERSON, of Peninsula,
JAMES JOHN PRYOR, of Peninsula,
HENRY JOHN ROBERTSON, of Wyndham,
JOHN SHEPPHERD, of Beck’s,
DUNCAN DUNDAS, of Waikawa, and
JAMES HAZLETT, of Anderson’s Bay,

have been appointed Officers for the purposes of that Act within all that area in the Provincial District of Otago bounded on the east and south by the ocean, from Shag Point to the mouth of the Mataura River; on the north-west by Lake County; on the west and south-west by the Mataura River; and on the north, north-west, and north-east by the Counties of Westland and Waitaki.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Woodville Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

RESULT of the poll for proposed loan of £850, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of making Saddle Road, within the Woodville Road District, County of Waipawa:—

I, Archibald McCormick, Chairman of the Woodville Road Board, do notify the result of the poll taken at Campbell’s Hall, the 11th October, 1890.

Number of ratepayers entitled to vote, 8; votes exercisable in favour of loan, 8; number of ratepayers who voted in favour of loan, 8; votes not recorded, nil; majority in favour (ratepayers), 8; majority of votes in favour, 8.

I therefore declare the proposal has been carried by a majority of voters and votes entitled to poll.

Currin’s, Whitmore, on the 6th February, 1891, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £350, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” to construct a road, to be called the Whitmore Road, from the junction with the Fitzherbert West Main Road to the southern boundary of Section 64, Block XIV., Kairanga Survey District:—
