RESULT of poll taken on the 19th January, 1891, upon a proposal to borrow £300, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of felling bush and forming Mount Munro Road East;—
Number of ratepayers on special roll 4, representing 4 votes; 3 ratepayers, representing 3 votes, voted for the proposal, and 1 ratepayer, representing 1 vote, against it.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Upper Wangaehu Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

RESULT of poll at Mangamahu, on Saturday, the 27th December, 1890, on proposal to borrow £5,000 (for the purpose of constructing a dray-road from the Mangamahu Stream to the Maungakaretu Trig. Station, and sundry bridle-roads in connection therewith) for the Upper Wangaehu Road District:—
Total number of ratepayers on roll 19, representing 28 votes; votes recorded for proposal, 22; number of ratepayers voting for the proposal 15; votes against, nil; number of ratepayers voting against the proposal, nil; informal, 1; votes not recorded, 5; total number against, 6.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I do hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

THE following special order, made by the Oxford Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER passed by the Oxford Road Board, at a Special Meeting of the Board, held on the 3rd December, 1890.
RESOLVED, That a portion of the Oxford Road District, bounded on the west by the western boundary of Rural Section 19346 and a line in continuation thereof to the River Eyre; on the north by the northern boundaries of Rural Sections 19346, 19340, 18279, 18120, 19273, 14647, 9847, 6706, 10304, 9220, 9208, 6498, 6487, 5826, 2590, 1084, and a straight line through Reserve 897 running from a point on the eastern boundary of Rural Section 6706, about 14 chains north of the main road, to the north-west corner of Rural Section 10304; on the north-east by the north-east boundary of Rural Section 1084 and a line in continuation thereof to the River Eyre; and on the south by the River Eyre, as shown on plan deposited at the Road Board Office, Oxford, and thereon coloured green, shall be constituted a water-race district according to “The Counties Act, 1886,” and various amendments to the said Act. The name of the district shall be the View Hill Water-race District. The special order shall come into force on the 1st day of January, 1891.

REGINALD JOHN KEITH JACKSON
to be Town Clerk of the Borough of Lower Hutt, as constituted under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” and also Returning Officer for the purpose of conducting the first election of Mayor and of six Councillors for the said borough; also to appoint Saturday, the 21st day of February, 1891, to be the day for holding the said first election of Mayor, and Monday, the 23rd day of February, 1891, to be the day for holding the said first election of Councillors; also to appoint Wednesday, the 25th day of February, 1891, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, to be the time, and the Town Board Office, Lower Hutt, to be the place, at which the first meeting of the Borough Council of Lower Hutt shall be held.
