Appointment of Quarantine Station revoked.—Hulk, Auckland Harbour.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation, dated the sixth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the same date, a certain place defined in the Schedule thereto was appointed to be a station for the performance of quarantine under the Third Part of “The Public Health Act, 1876,” and it is expedient to revoke such appointment:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said “Public Health Act, 1876,” and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, do hereby revoke the appointment of the above-mentioned quarantine station, namely, a radius of one cable’s length from a hulk moored off Hobson’s Bay, in the Harbour of Auckland.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.

Vesting Control in the Borough Council of Blenheim of the Nelson Street Bridge over the Opawa River.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section four of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may, upon the terms and conditions in the said section mentioned, by Proclamation publicly notified, direct that any bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea respectively, shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of such local authority as shall be mentioned in that behalf in such Proclamation:

And whereas it is expedient that the control and management of the bridge described in the Schedule hereto should be vested in the manner hereinafter described:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by the said Act, and of every other power and authority in any-wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and known as the Nelson Street Traffic-bridge, shall, from and after the thirty-first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of the Borough Council of Blenheim; and I do hereby fix and determine that the Borough Council of Blenheim shall itself provide out of its own funds one-half of the cost of managing and maintaining the said bridge; and that the Omaka Road Board shall, on demand in writing from the said Borough Council of Blenheim, pay to the said Council from time to time one-half of the actual cost of managing and maintaining the said bridge.

SCHEDULE.

THAT bridge over the Opawa River known as the Nelson Street Traffic-bridge, and the approaches on each side thereof, situated on the line of road leading from Nelson Street, in the Borough of Blenheim, to Dillon’s Point; all in the Provincial District of Marlborough: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 12866, deposited in the General Survey Office, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon marked in red.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the lands enumerated in the Schedule to an Order in Council of even date herewith, and made under the one hundredth and sixty-seventh section of the said Act, for sale as a village settlement, upon such terms and conditions as are set forth in the said Order in Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of January, 1891.

THE HONOURABLE E. MITCHELSON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by “The Government Life Insurance Act, 1886” (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is, among other things, enacted that on the commencement of the said Act all the provisions of “The Government Insurance and Annuities Act, 1874,” and of every other Act amending the same, or that would have applied to the last-mentioned Act if such Act had remained in force, shall, notwithstanding the prior express or implied repeal thereof, and except as expressly provided by the said Act, be and the same are thereby re-enacted so far as such provisions are capable of taking effect:

And whereas by the fifth section of “The Government Insurance and Annuities Act, 1874,” it is, among other things, enacted that the Governor shall have power, by Order in Council, from time to time to do the following things:—
