Lands taken for a Road in Waitemata County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken, under “The Public Works
Act, 1882,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit,
the construction of a road in Waitemata County:
And whereas the Waitemata County Council has laid be-
fore the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and
also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act and
the amendments thereof:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
“The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date
of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the
lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for
the purposes of the construction of the said road.

marked S.G. 13388, deposited in the General Survey Office,
at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and
thereon coloured red and purple respectively.

Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of Roads over
Lands in the Hawke’s Bay Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Hillier, Earl of
Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule
hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the lands
specified, under warrant of the date given, in the said
Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay, con-
taining by admeasurement 86 acres 1 rood 6 perches, more
or less, situate in the Survey Districts of Waikohu and Nga-
tapa, being a road, 100 links wide and upwards, the south side
of which commences at road-peg L, bearing N. 23° 13’ 5” E.
from Trig. Station C, Block XIV., of the said Waikohu
Survey District; and proceeds in a generally north-westerly
direction, intersecting the Okahuatiu No. 1 Block, for a
distance of about 73782 links, to a point on the left bank of
the Makaretu River bearing N. 43° 10’ W. from road-peg
79A, Block XII., Ngatapa Survey District: as the same
is delineated on Maps Nos. 261, 261A, 261B, 261C, and 261D,
deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland.
Also all that area in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay,
containing by admeasurement 8 acres 2 roods 5 perches,
more or less, situate in the Ngatapa Survey District, being a
road, 100 links wide and upwards, the centre-line of which
commences at a point on the right bank of the Wharekopae
River bearing S. 75° 8’ E. from road-peg 76; and proceeds in
a generally northerly direction, intersecting the Whare-
kopae No. 1A Block, for a distance of about 6325 links, to
road-peg 90: as the same is delineated on Map No. 261D,
deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland.
Also all that area in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay,
containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods, more or less,
situate in the Ngatapa Survey District, being a road, of
irregular width, traversing the Wharekopae No. 1B² Block.
Bounded towards the north-east by a line bearing S. 43° 10’ E.
to the Makaretu River; towards the south-east by the said
Makaretu River; towards the south-west and south by the
Wharekopae River; and towards the north-west by a line
bearing N. 63° 62’ E.: as the same is delineated on Map
No. 261D, deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland.
Date of Governor’s warrant, 4th December, 1888.
