A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the ninety-seventh section of "The
Land Act, 1885," it is enacted that the Governor, by
Proclamation, may from time to time declare any Crown
lands within any mining district, not held under license or
lease at the date of such Proclamation, or over which the
license or lease has been cancelled, to be open for sale or
selection, in sections of such size and form, and on such
date, as he may determine; and any land so proclaimed
may hereafter be sold at a like price, and subject to the like
terms and conditions, or as near thereto as may be, as Crown
lands of the same class not within a mining district; and
the Governor may from time to time alter, amend, or revoke
any such Proclamation :.
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare
that the land specified in the Schedule hereto shall be open
for sale or selection under the provisions of the third section
of "The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887," after the lapse of
a period of not less than forty-five days from the date hereof,
in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the
said Act, and at the prices per acre stated in the said
Schedule.

Description of Land: Section 34, all mixed bush; 35,
nearly all mixed bush, with a little open land. Both sections
are well watered, and situated about nine miles from
Whangarei Town.

Whangarei County.
All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
situated in Block IX., Opuawhanga Survey District, and
containing approximately 810 acres; commencing at the
intersection of the Oriwa Stream with the southern boundary
of Section No. 2, Block IX., Opuawhanga Survey District
aforesaid. Bounded towards the north by said Section No. 2
and the Oriwa Block; towards the east generally by Sandy
Bay, by Section No. 21 of Block IX. aforesaid, and again by
Sandy Bay; towards the south-east by Section No. 19 of
Block IX. aforesaid; and towards the south-west by a right
line from the westernmost angle of the last-mentioned sec-
tion to the point of commencement.
Description of Land: Broken forest land, soil medium,
fronts on to coast-line.
Cash price, 10s. per acre.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth
day of November, 1890.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the seventy-fourth section of "The
Regulation of Elections Act, 1881," it is enacted
that, when any accidental or unavoidable impediment, mis-
feasance, or omission happens, the Governor in Council may
take all such measures as may be necessary for removing or
rectifying the same:
And whereas by the Governor's warrant appointing polling-
places for the various electoral districts within the colony,
which was dated the fifth day of November, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the same date, the Schoolhouse, Woodside, was
appointed amongst the polling-places thereby fixed for the
Franklin Electoral District: And whereas a vacant house
near the school, Woodside, is the place which should have
been so appointed, instead of the said schoolhouse: And
whereas it is expedient that such appointment should now
be properly made:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, in pursuance of the
powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said
above-recited section, and of all other powers and authorities
in anywise enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby order
and declare that a vacant house near the school, Woodside,
shall be a polling-place for the Franklin Electoral District,
in lieu of the Schoolhouse, Woodside.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth
day of November, 1890.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Harbours Act Amendment Act,
1883" (hereinafter called "the said Act"), it is,
among other things, enacted that, where the foreshore has
been legally vested in any Harbour Board or other local
governing body, it may from time to time, subject to the
provisions of the one hundred and fifty-sixth section of
"The Harbours Act, 1878," license and permit any part of
the foreshore to be used or occupied, inter alia, for the
erection and use of any landing-place or wharf: And
whereas by the said Act it is also provided that every
licensee shall, subject to the provisions of the said Act, have
power to make and construct any necessary reclamation for
the purpose of erecting on the foreshore comprised in his
license, or upon any land below low-water mark immediately
contiguous to such foreshore which shall be specified in
such license, any building, structure, erection, or other
works to enable him to obtain the full benefit of such
license: And whereas by the said Act it is further provided
that every such license shall be in writing, under the seal of
the Board or body granting the same, and may be for any
period not exceeding fourteen years from the date thereof,
and may prescribe a sum of money to be payable either at
stated periods or on or before the granting thereof for the
use of the foreshore so granted, and may prescribe any other
terms or conditions, general or particular, to be observed or
performed by the person to whom the same is granted: And
whereas by the said Act it is also enacted that, in any
case where there is no Harbour Board, or no Harbour Board
empowered to grant any such license as aforesaid, the Gov-
ernor in Council may in his discretion grant and issue a license
for all or any of the purposes hereinbefore mentioned, and
all the provisions of the said Act in respect of such licenses
shall, mutatis mutandis, apply accordingly: And whereas
