Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Otago Central Railway: Middlemarch Section Extension.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Otago Central Railway is one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and which Act is, in the seventh section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section seven of “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point on the northern boundary of Section No. 71, Block IX., Strath-Taieri Survey District, the said point being the termination of a portion of the Otago Central Railway, as described in a Proclamation dated the 28th August, 1889, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 51, of the 29th August, 1889; proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 1 mile 73 chains 65 links or thereabouts, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, viz.: Railway reserve in Blocks IX. and V., Strath-Taieri Survey District, and terminating at a point in the said railway reserve between Sections No. 30 and 29 in said Block V., distant about 6 chains 25 links in a north-easterly direction from the south-eastern corner of said Section No. 30; including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, streams, rivers, and watercourses; all in the Provincial District of Otago and Colony of New Zealand: in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 16633 in the office of the Minister for Public Works at Wellington, a copy of which is deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Dunedin, in the said Provincial District of Otago.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the one hundred and ninety-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of sections one hundred and ninety-eight to two hundred and nineteen of Part VII. of “The Land Act, 1885,” relating to small grazing runs.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by estimation 240 acres, situated in Block I., Linkwater Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section 1, Block I., in the said survey district; towards the west by a proposed forest reserve; towards the south by Claverton Run; and towards the east by the waters of Hikapu Reach; excepting thereout a block of land of about 4 acres in extent at Pipi Beach: as the same is more particularly shown on the official map in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Blenheim.
