Tenders for Weekly Mail Steam Service between Wanganui
and Pipiriki.

General Post Office,
Wellington, 15th November, 1890.

SEALED tenders will be received at this office until
noon of Saturday, the 13th December proximo, for the
conveyance of mails by steamer, once a week each way,
between Wanganui and Pipiriki and wayside places, for a
period of four years, commencing at the expiration of twelve
months from date of acceptance of tender.

Specification and conditions of contract, &c., may be
seen at this office, and at the Chief Post Office, Wanganui.
The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the under-men-
tioned applications have been accepted, and are open
to public inspection.

Any person may, at any time within two months from the
date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing, in duplicate,
of opposition to the grant of the patent, stating in such
notice the particular grounds of his objection.

No. 4698.—EDWARD TREGEAR, Surveyor, and FOLLETT
CARRINGTON, Surveyor, both of Wellington, in the Colony of
New Zealand. An invention for improvement in angular
measurement by means of surveying or astronomical instru-
ments, as in theodolite, to be called “Tregear and Carring-
ton’s Theodolite.”

No. 4699.—WILLIAM LANGDOWN, of Christchurch, New
Zealand, Coach-builder. An invention for improvements in
the construction of gigs or similar vehicles.

Christchurch, New Zealand, Engineers. An invention for
a lifter for hot plates of stoves, ranges, &c.

No. 4705.—JOHN LEE SCOTT and GEORGE SCOTT, both of
Christchurch, New Zealand, Engineers. An invention for
an improved bottom grate for stoves, ranges, and other fire-
places.

No. 4706.—JOHN LEE SCOTT and GEORGE SCOTT, both of
Christchurch, New Zealand, Engineers. An invention for
improvements in chaff-bagging machinery.

No. 4289.—WILLIAM KENDALL, of Norfolk Island, Carpen-
ter. An invention for an improved claw-hammer, to be
called “Kendall’s Patent Lever Claw-hammer.”
