Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Charges in force upon the New Zealand Railways.
THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred by “The Government Railways Act, 1887,” do hereby make the following alterations in and additions to the scale of fares, rates, and charges on the New Zealand railways :—
PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.
WANGANUI SECTION.
Class H.
Wool undumped, consigned from Feilding to Foxton for shipment, will be charged 3s. per bale, including wharfage; to come into force on and after the 8th November, 1890.
HURUNUI–BLUFF SECTION.
Class M.
Rakaia–Ashburton Forks, Waimate, Duntroon–Hakateramea, and Waimea Plains District Railways: Local rates on Class M are hereby cancelled on and after the 8th November, 1890.
AUCKLAND AND HURUNUI–BLUFF SECTIONS.
Class P.
All local rates on native brown coals and kerosene shale are hereby cancelled on and after the 6th January, 1891.
PART V.—CLASSIFICATION OF GOODS.
Native brown coals, lignite, peat, and kerosene shale to be Class Q on and after the 6th January, 1891.
PART VI.—WHARVES.
AUCKLAND SECTION.
Helensville: The regulation regarding free wharfage of ships’ supplies of native coal carried by rail from Huntly, Kimihia Siding, and Miranda Siding is hereby cancelled, and Class Q will be charged 6d. per ton on and after the 6th January, 1891.

IN pursuance of regulations under “The Civil Service Reform Act, 1886,” notice is hereby given that for the Senior Examination of January, 1891, the period of literature will be the period from 1800 to 1850, and the special books will be Milton’s Samson Agonistes, and Shelley’s Prometheus Unbound.
