Bringing Sections 105 to 115 of "The Resident Magistrates
Act, 1867," into force in Taranaki District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Resident Magistrates Act, 1867,"
it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor
from time to time, by Proclamation in the New Zealand
Gazette, to declare that, from a day to be in such Proclama-
tion fixed, sections one hundred and five to one hundred and
fifteen, both inclusive, having special reference to persons of
the Native race, or such of those sections as shall be in such
Proclamation specified, shall come into operation in such
districts of the colony as shall be in such Proclamation
specified, and until so proclaimed, and in places not included
in any such district, such sections shall not be in force:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers and authorities so vested in me as
aforesaid, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after
the fourth day of September instant, sections one hundred
and five to one hundred and fifteen, both inclusive, having
special reference to persons of the Native race, shall come
into operation within the following Resident Magistrate's
district:—
Taranaki District.

Resuming Possession of Lands in Hawke's Bay.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the one hundred and fifty-eighth
section of "The Land Act, 1885," I, William Hillier, Earl
of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby resume possession of the lands described in the
Schedule hereto, for road purposes.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land situated in the Hawke's Bay Land
District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 39 perches,
more or less, being a road of uneven width and a part of
Section No. 8, Block IX., Tautane Survey District. Bounded
towards the north by Section No. 8, Block IX., Tautane Survey
District, 377·6 links; towards the east by a public road and
Section No. 1, Block IX., Tautane Survey District, 168·7 links;
towards the south by Section No. 1, Block IX., Tautane Survey
District, 473·2 links; towards the west by Section No. 8 afore-
said, 182·7 links, to the commencing-point: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on
Map No. 658, deposited in the Survey Office, Napier.

All that parcel of land situated in the Hawke's Bay Land
District, containing by admeasurement 13 acres 2 roods 33
perches, more or less, being a road of uneven with traversing
Section No. 1 of Block IX., Tautane Survey District. Com-
mencing at a point on the northern boundary of the aforesaid
Section No. 1, at a distance of 420·5 links from the south-
east corner-peg of Section No. 8; thence in a south-westerly
direction, 8243·9 links, to its intersection with the Rabbit-
fence Reserve: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as
the same is delineated on Map No. 658, deposited in the
Survey Office, Napier.

All that parcel of land situated in the Hawke's Bay Land
District, containing by admeasurement 15 acres 1 rood,
more or less, being a road, 100 links wide, traversing Section
No. 1 of Block IX., Weber Survey District. Commencing at a
point in the Rabbit-fence Reserve; thence in a south-
westerly direction, 12832·9 links, to the south-west corner-
peg of Section No. 1 aforesaid: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less; as the same is delineated on Map No. 658,
deposited in the Survey Office, Napier.

Exchange of Reserves in Auckland.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this third day
of September, 1890.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column of
the Schedule hereto was reserved for hospital pur-
poses: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is
expedient to exchange the said reserve for that mentioned
in the second column of the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested
in him by the fourth section of "The Public Reserves Act,
1881," and the third section of "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1889," doth hereby declare that, from and
after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve men-
tioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be
exchanged for the reserve mentioned in the second column
of the Schedule hereto.
