ONSLOW, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in the Governor by "The Marriage Act, 1880,"
I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing
marriage district known as the Tauranga District, and do
proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised
within the said district is hereby divided anew into two
marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall
be as follow:β
TAURANGA DISTRICT.
All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland
bounded towards the north-east by the sea, from the mouth
of the Waihi River to the Whakatane River; thence towards
the east by the latter river to the confiscation boundary-
line; thence towards the south by the said confiscation
boundary-line to the south-western corner of the Parish of
Matata; thence towards the west and again towards the
south by the County of Rotorua to the County of Piako;
thence towards the south-west by the said County of Piako;
and towards the north-west by the County of Ohinemuri to
the mouth of the Waihi River aforesaid, the place of com-
mencement.
ROTORUA DISTRICT.
All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland
bounded towards the north by the County of Tauranga, from
the County of Piako to the Parish of Matata; thence
towards the east by the County of Whakatane to the confisca-
tion boundary-line; thence again towards the north by the
said confiscation boundary-line to the Whakatane River;
thence again towards the east generally by the said Whaka-
tane River to its source; thence by a right line to the source
of the Ohiwa or Waikare River, and by that river to Wai-
karemoana; thence by the said Waikaremoana to its
westernmost shore; thence towards the south by a right line
to Taupo Moana, at the southernmost corner of the Town-
ship of Taupo; thence by the said Taupo Moana to the
mouth of the Waihora River; and thence towards the west
by a right line to Atiamuri, on the Waikato River; thence
by a right line to Te Whetu Native Settlement; thence by
a right line to Poutihi; and thence by the County of Piako
aforesaid.
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation on the first day of September, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of
Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley,
of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron
Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and
of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron
Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal
of the said Colony, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this eighth day of August, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and ninety.

Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the
Purposes of a Road in Danevirke Road District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
form part of land reserved and taken for the pur-
poses of the Napier to Woodville Railway, and it is con-
sidered desirable to allocate such lands to the purposes of a
road:
And whereas it has been certified by the New Zealand
Railway Commissioners that such lands are not required for
railway purposes: And whereas such lands are situated in
the Danevirke Road District, the local authority of which
has consented to the issue of this Proclamation:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion
that the said local authority can conveniently construct and
maintain the said road:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
section five of "The Public Works Act Amendment Act,
1889," and of every other power and authority in any-
wise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall,
upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette,
become a road, and that the said road shall be under the
control of the Danevirke Road Board, and shall be main-
tained by the said Board in like manner as other public
highways are controlled and maintained by the said Board.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of land in the Provincial District of Hawke's
Bay, being a portion of the Railway Reserve, situate in
Block V., Tahoraite Survey District, containing by admea-
surement 6Β·3 perches.
