Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auckland, Taranaki, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago.
ONSLow, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland, Taranaki, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland, being Section No. 96, Parish of Waiheke, containing by admeasurement 46 acres 1 rood 24 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east generally by Section No. 94, Parish of Waiheke, 299 and 1936 links, and by a public road 68, 477, 726, 272, 689, and 410 links ; towards the south-east by Section No. 96A, Parish of Waiheke, 572 links ; towards the south-west by land granted to R. McLeod (No. 235, O.L.C.), 4311 links ; and towards the north-west by Section No. 26, Parish of Waiheke, 856 links, to the point of commencement : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For primary education.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland, being Section No. 96A, Parish of Waiheke, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 2 roods 16 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by a public road, 1163 links ; towards the south generally by a public road ; towards the south-west by land granted to R. McLeod (No. 235, O.L.C.), 870 links ; and towards the north-west by Section No. 96, Parish of Waiheke, 572 links, to the point of commencement : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a school-site.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland, being Section No. 96, Parish of Waiheke, containing by admeasurement 52 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east generally by Section No. 94 1936 links ; and a public road 68, 477, 726, 272, 689, 410, and 1163 links ; towards the south by a road reserve ; towards the south-west by land granted to R. McLeod (No. 235, O.L.C), 5181 links ; and towards the north-west by Section No. 26, 856 links, to the point of commencement : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For primary education.
TARANAKI.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Sections Nos. 2 and 3, Township of Manutahi. Bounded towards the north by Barton Street ; towards the east by Section No. 4 ; towards the south by Cross Street ; and towards the west by Section No. 1. For a cemetery.
WELLINGTON.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 4 acres and 30 perches, more or less, being Section No. 117, Block VI., Mangahao Survey District. Bounded on the north by a public road ; on the east by a public road ; and on the south-west and north-west by Section No. 78 : as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For road purposes.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 3 roods 20 perches, more or less, being Section No. 118, Block VI., Mangahao Survey District. Bounded on the north by a public road ; on the south-east and south-west by Section No. 76 ; and on the north-west by a public road : as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a school-site.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section No. 119, Block VI., Mangahao Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by Section No. 115 ; on the south-east by a public road ; and on the south-west and north-west by Section No. 114 : as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a metal reserve.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 18 perches, more or less, being Section No. 120, Block VI., Mangahao Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by Section No. 69 ; and on the south-east and north-west by a public road : as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a metal reserve.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 24 perches, more or less, being Section No. 121, Block VI., Mangahao Survey District. Bounded on the north-east by Section No. 69 ; and on the south-east, south, and north-west by a public road : as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a metal reserve.
CANTERBURY.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 200 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 2585 (in red), Block XIV., on the map of the Halswell Survey District ; commencing at the westernmost corner of Section No. 2443 ; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of the said Section No. 2443, 1689 links ; thence north-easterly at a right angle, 1411·5 links ; thence south-easterly following a road-line along the Little River Railway Reserve, 2922·7 links ; thence south-westerly on a bearing of 217° 44′ 30″, 5124·2 links ; thence north-westerly at a right angle, 4545·8 links ; thence north-easterly at a right angle, 3402·4 links, to the commencing-point : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the map of the Chief Surveyor, deposited in the Survey Office, Christchurch. For recreation.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 2871 (in red), and part of Reserve No. 2331 (in red), Block XI., on the map of the Oxford Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Lots Nos. 6 and 5 of the said Reserve No. 2331 (in red) ; towards the eastward by a road-line : and towards the south-west by the Plantation Reserve. For a gravel-pit.
OTAGO.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 47 acres 3 roods 8 perches, more or less, situate in the Blackstone District, being Section No. 12 on the map of the said district. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 4 of Block VIII. of same district, 2550 links ; towards the east by road and river reserve, 4820 links ; and towards the west by Section No. 2 and road-line, 3830 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a gravel reserve.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 1 rood 29 perches, more or less, situate in the Maruwenua District, being Section No. 22, Block IV., of said district. Bounded towards the north by Crown lands, 903·8 links ; towards the east by Harris Street, 940·5 links ; towards the south by a creek, 930 links ; and towards the west by Section No. 6, Block IV., Maruwenua, 720·5 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a school-site.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 8 acres and 10 perches, more or less, situate in the Maruwenua District, being Section No. 12, Block X., of said district. Bounded towards the north by a road-line, 763 links ; towards the east by Section No. 3 of same block, 1065 links ; towards the south by said Section No. 3, 762 links ; and towards the west by Section No. 4 of same block, 1050 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a school-site.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, situate in the Township of Nenthorn, being Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 17, 18, 19, and 20, Block V., of said township. Bounded towards the north-west by Sections Nos. 5 and 16 of same block, 500 links ; towards the north-east by Grant Street, 400 links ; towards the south-east by Cameron Street, 500 links ; and towards the south-west by Speke Street, 400 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For an addition to a school-site.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 17 perches, more or less, situate in the Township of St. Bathan’s, being Section No. 47, Block II., of said township. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 46 of same block, 314·3 links ; towards the east by a street-line, 221·6 and 195 links ; towards the south by Crown lands, 314·5 links ; and towards the west by Crown lands, 396·4 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a school-site.
