Altering Date on which Rules fixing Life-saving Appliances for Ships are to come into force.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of July, 1890.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is provided by section three hundred and six of “The Shipping and Seamen’s Act, 1877” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), that the Governor may, by Order in Council, from time to time revoke, alter, or add to any order previously made under the said Act:
And whereas an Order in Council was made on the tenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, under the said Act, fixing and prescribing rules for defining the boats, rafts, or other appliances for saving life with which ships are to be provided, and ordering that such rules shall come into force on and after the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety; and whereas it is expedient that such rules should not come into force until the first day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the said rules shall come into force on the first day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, instead of on the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, as provided in the said Order in Council of the tenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of July, 1890.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor in Council by Hone Mahia, Mere Kaimanu, Hori Ngakapa Whanaunga, Tukukino, Joseph Kenedy (half-caste), Harata Taiporutu, Harata Noki, Wiremu Taiporutu, comprising a majority in number of the Native owners of the land described in the second column of the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such land contained in the Crown grant bearing date the twelfth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, described in the first column of the said Schedule, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has reported that the provisions of the law in that behalf have been complied with: And whereas it appears expedient to grant such application:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by “The Native Land Act, 1888,” and acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said Crown grant on the alienation of the said lands are, for the purposes only of conveyance to Her Majesty the Queen, hereby removed.
SCHEDULE.
FIRST COLUMN.
Particulars of Grant or Instrument containing Restrictions.
Crown grant dated the 12th January, 1875, in favour of Hone Mahia, Ruihana Ka-whero, Mere Kaimanu, Rawiri Taiporutu, Hera Kaimanu, Hori Ngakapa Whanaunga, Hemi Wa, Anaru Pahapaha, Riria Karepa, and Tukukino, and containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable by sale, or by lease for a longer period than twenty-one years, or by mortgage, except with the consent of the Governor being previously obtained.”
SECOND COLUMN.
Description of Lands.
All that parcel of land situated at Whangamata, in the District of Hauraki, and numbered 3034. Bounded towards the north-east by the Whangamata Harbour, the Wairau River, and the said harbour; towards the south-east by the Whangamata No. 4 Block, 30000 links; towards the south-west by the Whangamata No.5 Block, 17690 links; and towards the north-west by the Whangamata No. 1 Block, 27000 links: and known as Whangamata No. 2, containing 5,487 acres.
