the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred, save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons for any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be specified in such order, and that every such delegation may from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked: And whereas, pursuant to “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land described in the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said “Public Domains Act, 1881:”

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this present order, delegate all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve, to

The CORPORATION of the BOROUGH of ALEXANDRA (SOUTH), which shall be known as the Alexandra (South) Domain Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the Second Thursday in each month, at eight o’clock p.m., at the Corporation Office, Alexandra (South), or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Thursday, the 13th day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second Thursday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

Exchange of Land in Canterbury.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this ninth day of January, 1890.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE E. MITCHELSON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto was reserved for a gravel-pit: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the said land for that mentioned in the second column of the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and the third section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be exchanged for the land mentioned in the second column of the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Land intended to be exchanged. Description of Land to be obtained in exchange therefor.
All that portion of land situate in the County of Geraldine, Land District of Canterbury, being Reserve No. 1064, containing by admeasurement 5 acres and 3 perches, more or less; commencing at the most western corner of said reserve on the north-east side of a road; thence in a north-east direction, bearing 49° 32′, distance 1000 links; thence south-east 139° 32′, distance 479·6 links, to the west side of a road; thence along said road in a south-east direction, bearing 176° 9′, distance 28·3 links; thence south-west 229° 32′, distance 953·1 links, to a road; thence along said road north-west 319° 32′, distance 502·3 links, to commencing-point: as the same is more particularly delineated on plan deposited in the Survey Office, Christchurch. All that portion of land situate in the County of Geraldine, Land District of Canterbury, being part of Rural Section No. 21295, containing by admeasurement 5 acres and 1 perch, more or less; commencing at the south-east corner of said section, being the junction of two roads; thence along the north-east side of a road in a north-west direction, bearing 139° 32′, distance 1160·5 links; thence north-east 229° 32′, distance 862·4 links, to the west side of a road; thence along said road in a south-east direction, bearing 356° 9′, distance 1446·3 links, to starting-point: as the same is more particularly delineated on plan deposited in the Survey Office, Christchurch.

Increasing Number of Commissioners of Town District of Taradale, County of Hawke’s Bay.

ONSLow, Governor.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The Town Districts Act 1881 Amendment Act, 1883,” I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby increase the number of Commissioners of the Town District of Taradale to seven, such increase to commence from the general election of members to be held in September next.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eleventh day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

Rural Land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District withdrawn from Sale or Selection.

ONSLow, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the “The Land Act, 1885,” and the amendments thereof, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the notification issued on the twentieth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, opening land for sale or selection under the provisions of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887,” shall be and the same is revoked in so far as it relates to the section of land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
