Waimakariri Water-races Extension, County of Selwyn.

ONSLOW, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
I N exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the two hundred and sixty-seventh
section of "The Counties Act, 1886," and at the request of
the Selwyn County Council, I, William Hillier, Earl of
Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and declare the lands described in the
Schedule hereto to be water-races as defined by the two
hundred and sixty-sixth section of the said Act, to be known
by the name of the Waimakariri Water-races Extension ;
and, further, that the River Waimakariri, in the County of
Selwyn, shall be a stream which may be taken for the pur-
pose of supplying the said water-races.
SCHEDULE.
SUB-BRANCH No. 1 OF BRANCH-RACE No. 6.
ALL that area, 12½ links in width, situate in the Christchurch
Survey District, County of Selwyn, commencing at a point
on Branch-race No. 6, on Buchanan's Road, about 825 links
distant in a westerly direction from the southern corner of
Section No. 1136, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly
direction intersecting said Section No. 1136 to a public road ;
thence along the north-western side of said public road for a
distance of 560 links ; thence across said public road to the
western corner of Lot No. 6 of Section No. 209 ; thence
along the eastern side of a road forming the western boun-
daries of Lots Nos. 6, 10, 11, and 12 of said section to the
north-western corner of Lot. No. 13 ; thence easterly along
the northern boundary of said Lot No. 13 to and across the
Racecourse Railway, Lot No. 36, and Racecourse Road to
the western corner of Lot No. 63 ; thence in a south-easterly
direction along the eastern side of said road to the south-
western corner of Lot No. 57 of said Section No. 209.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of
Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley,
of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron
Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and
of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron
Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal
of the said Colony, at Dunedin, this eleventh day
of January, in the year of our Lord one thou-
sand eight hundred and ninety.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this ninth
day of January, 1890.

THE HONOURABLE E. MITCHELSON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
W HEREAS by section fourteen of "The Public Works
Act, 1882" (hereinafter termed the said Act), it is
provided that, if it is found that any land held, taken, pur-
chased, or acquired at any time under that Act, or any other
Act or provincial ordinance, or otherwise however, for public
works, is not required for public use, the Governor may, by
an Order in Council, publicly notified and gazetted, cause
the same to be sold under the conditions in the said recited
section set forth: And whereas the land described in the
Schedule hereto has been acquired for a public work within
the meaning of the said Act, namely, for an approach to the
Matakiki Bridge; and the Minister for Public Works has
laid before the Governor a memorial accompanied by a map
in terms of the said Act, praying the Governor, by an Order
in Council, to cause the said land to be sold :
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities aforesaid, do hereby order that the land described
in the Schedule hereto shall be valued and sold in the
manner and subject to the conditions in the fourteenth
section of the said Act provided.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Nelson, being
part of Section No. 61, Block I., Tutaki Survey District,
containing by admeasurement 33 acres and 30 perches,
more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by the left
bank of the Matakikaki River, by the Matakikaki Bridge,
and again by the said Matakikaki River to the south side of
the road intersecting the said Section No. 61 ; thence by a
line bearing S. 6° 46' E. for a distance of 790 links ; towards
the south by a line due west for a distance of 1050 links ;
and towards the south-west by a line bearing N. 11° 19' west
for a distance of 3926 links : and intersected by a road-line
1 chain wide ; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less ; as
the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
S.G. 11848, deposited in the General Survey Office, at Wel-
ington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon
tinted light green, with dark-green border.

Declaring a certain Road in the County of Coromandel to
be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this ninth
day of January, 1890.

I N pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other
powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency
the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby order that the road in the County of
Coromandel, described in the Schedule below, shall, on and
after the date above mentioned, become a county road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Land District of Auckland, being a
road, 100 links wide, the northern side of which commences
at the south-eastern corner of Section No. 1, Block X.,
Coromandel Survey District (Preece's land), and proceeds
westerly along the southern boundary of the said section
No. 1 to the Waiatu River, near its mouth ; as the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.G. 12524,
deposited in the General Survey Office, at Wellington, in the
Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Declaring a certain Road in the County of Kaikoura to be
a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this ninth
day of January, 1890.

powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excel-
lency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby order that the road in the County
of Kaikoura, described in the Schedule below, shall, on
and after the date above mentioned, become a county road.
SCHEDULE.
THAT portion of the road known as the Kaikoura-Clarence
Road which lies within the boundaries of Kaikoura County,
commencing at the Hapuka River, and proceeding in a
north-easterly direction, intersecting Blocks V. and III.,
Mount Fyffe Survey District, Block XVI., Kaitarau Survey
District, and Blocks XII., XIII., X., and XI. respectively,
Bui-Bui Survey District, to the bridge over the Clarence
River: as the same is more particularly delineated on the
plan marked S.G. 11372, deposited in the General Survey
Office, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Well-
ington, and thereon marked in red.
