Charges for using Bureau Stations.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of June, 1890.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by sections fifteen and forty-four of “The Electric Lines Act, 1884,” and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby make the following regulations, and fix the scale of charges contained in the Schedule hereto, as regulations to be observed and charges to be respectively demanded and received for the use of Government telephones at bureau stations on and after the first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety; and in exercise of the like powers, and with the like advice and consent, His Excellency the Governor doth hereby revoke, as from the last-mentioned date, the Order in Council made herein on the fourth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, and published in Gazette No. 64 of the same year, and the regulations thereby made.


SCHEDULE.

REGULATIONS.

A BUREAU station means any ordinary telegraph station connected by telephone with an exchange, and includes any station so connected.

The following are the charges to be paid by the public for the use of Government telephones wherever established in the colony at a bureau station: Where the line used is not more than six miles long, a uniform charge of 6d. for the use of the same for any period not exceeding three minutes, and a further charge of 6d. for every additional three minutes or portion of three minutes. Where the line used is over six miles long, the charges are 1s. for the use of the same for any time not exceeding three minutes, and a further charge of 1s. for every additional three minutes or portion of three minutes. Messages telephoned by subscribers through an exchange to a bureau station or from a bureau station to a subscriber by a subscriber will be charged half the above rates, except when the bureau station is an office open for the transmission of telegrams by means of telephone or Morse telegraph instruments, and is outside the limits of a town or city.

When a message to the effect that any person is required at the telephone is delivered by the department from a bureau station, 3d. will be charged for delivery within the ordinary circuits of delivery. These charges must be paid by the sender.

Messages outside the limits described above are subject to special charges for delivery, according to the extra expense thereby incurred.

Vesting a Library Site in the Newman Public Library and Institute (Incorporated).

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of June, 1890.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was reserved for a site for public buildings: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Newman Public Library and Institute (Incorporated):

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve shall become vested in the Newman Public Library and Institute (Incorporated), in trust, for a site for a public library and institute.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being part of Section No. 69, Township of Newman, Mangaone Survey District. Bounded on the north by other portion of Section No. 69; on the east by Section No. 70; on the south by Section No. 68; and on the west by a public road: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.

Vesting a Reserve in the Mount Wellington Road Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of June, 1890.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was reserved for quarry purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Mount Wellington Road Board:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve shall become vested in the Mount Wellington Road Board, in trust, for quarry purposes.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 6 acres, more or less, situate in the Parish of Waitemata, in the Suburbs of Auckland, being Allotment No. 61 of Section No. 12 of the said parish. Bounded towards the north-east, south-east, and south by Allotment No. 60 of Section No. 12 aforesaid, 743, 227, 128, 790, and 362 links respectively; towards the west by the Great South Road, 476 links; and again towards the north-east and north-west by land originally granted to the Rev. James Hamlin, 126, 250, and 1096 links respectively: save and except thereout a road 50 links wide intersecting the said parcel of land: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less; as the same is delineated on the map of the said parish, deposited in the District Survey Office, Auckland.
