Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this third day
of June, 1890.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
in Council by Hakopa Manuirangi, the Native
owner of the land described in the second column of the
Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alien-
ation of such land contained in the Crown grant, bearing
date the twenty-third day of May, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-five, described in the first column of the
said Schedule, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has
been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said
Court has reported that the provisions of the law in that
behalf have been complied with: And whereas it appears
expedient to grant such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable
William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred on him by “The Native Land Act, 1888,” and
acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all
restrictions imposed by the said Crown grant on the alien-
ation of the said lands are hereby removed.

Crown grant, Index No.5444, T.20, folio 53, dated 23rd May, 1885, under “The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1884,” in favour of Hakopa te Manuirangi, and containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable by sale, or by lease for a longer period than twenty-one years, or by mortgage, except with the consent of the Governor previously obtained.” All that parcel of land in the Huirangi District, containing 50 acres, and known as Section 120, Huirangi.
