Special Orders made by the Masterton Road Board,
County of Wairarapa North.

THE following special orders, made by the Masterton
Road Board, are published in accordance with "The
Road Boards Act, 1882."
W. R. RUSSELL.
SPECIAL ORDERS made by the Masterton Road Board, at a
Meeting held on Saturday, the 17th day of May, 1890.
- THAT, for the purpose of securing payment of the sum of
£600 granted to this Board, under "The Government Loans
to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the extension of the
Wangaeahu Road by formation up to the boundary of the
Mauriceville Road District, a special rate of threepence and
three-sevenths of a penny in the pound be made and levied
on the following properties, namely, Sections 50, 51, 52, and
53, Block VI., and Sections 20 and 21, Block X., in the
Kopuaranga Survey District. Such special rate shall be an
annually-recurring rate, and shall be payable in two half-
yearly instalments for twenty-six years; the first half-yearly
payment to be made on the 1st day of December, 1890, and
the second on the 1st day of June, 1891, and on the same
dates in each following year until the debt is liquidated. - That, for the purpose of securing payment of the sum
of £1,000 granted to the Rangitumau Road Board, under
"The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the
purpose of forming about three miles of road known as the
continuation of Dorset's Road, a special rate of fourpence
and 36-441ths of a penny in the pound be made and levied
on the rateable value of the following properties now merged
into the Masterton Road District: Sections 90, part of 91,
97, 98, and 99, Block V., and Sections 39, 41, 43, 44, 42, 36,
34, and 26, Block VI., Kopuaranga Survey District. Such
special rate shall be an annually-recurring rate, and shall be
payable in two half-yearly instalments for twenty-six years;
the first half-yearly payment to be made on the 1st day of
December, 1890, and the second on the 1st day of June,
1891, and on the same days in each following year until the
debt is liquidated.
I hereby certify that the foregoing special orders have
been duly made by the Masterton Road Board, as required
by section 75 of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouses.
CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the authority in me for this
purpose vested, I, the Commissioner of Trade and
Customs, do, by this order under my hand, revoke and annul
the appointment of the under-mentioned warehouses for the
reception and security of goods entered to be warehoused
without payment of duty upon the first entry thereof,
namely,—
Port of Auckland.
The warehouse known as
ARCHIBALD CLARK AND SON'S BOND,
as appointed and described in Commissioner's Order No.
194, of the 14th January, 1884.
Port of Wellington.
The warehouses known as
PEARCE'S BOND,
as appointed and described in New Zealand Gazette, 1859,
page 157; and
NATHAN'S BOND,
as appointed and described in Commissioner's Order No. 112,
of the 25th September, 1878.

THE following Notices to Mariners, received from the
Department of Ports and Harbours, Melbourne, are
published for general information.

Port Phillip Bay.—LIGHTS, QUEENSCLIFFE NEW PIER.
NOTICE is hereby given that on and after Monday, the 5th
May, 1890, two green lights, visible in clear weather about
three miles distant, will be exhibited from lamp-posts erected
on the Queenscliffe new pier—one at the inner corner of L
end, and one about 200ft. therefrom, on the northern side
of the pier.
LIGHT, QUEENSCLIFFE (OLD) JETTY.
Referring to Notice to Mariners published the 15th January,
1861, notice is hereby given that on and after the 5th May,
1890, the colour of the light on the old Queenscliffe Jetty
will be changed from green to red.
WEST CHANNEL.—CHEQUERED BUOY NEAR SWAN SPIT
LIGHTHOUSE.
Referring to Notice to Mariners published the 24th Feb-
ruary, 1882, pilots, masters of vessels, and others are hereby
informed that the chequered buoy moored about three cables
S. ½ W. from the Swan Spit light-vessel has been removed,
there being now 20ft. at low water where such chequered
buoy was moored, and the same depth being found to the
extent of half a cable therefrom.
SYMONDS SPIT BUOY.
Referring to Notice to Mariners dated the 25th August,
1874, pilots, masters of vessels, and others are hereby in-
formed that the buoy marking the eastern edge of West
Middle Sand has been removed, and in lieu thereof a pile
beacon, 12ft. above high water, surmounted with a disc
painted black, has been placed at the N.E. end of the West
Middle Sand.
