Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of Roads over Lands in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the lands specified, under warrant of the date given in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

ROAD A TO B.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, being a road, 100 links wide, traversing Sections Nos. 6, 2, 5, and 7 of the Ngakaroro Block No. 1A, and the Ngakaroro Block No. 2F, all in the Kaitawa Survey District, the centre line of which commences at a point on the south-western boundary-line of the said Section No. 6, 402 links distant from its southernmost corner, and proceeds in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 7056·7 links on a bearing of 132° 9′ 30″, and thence for a distance of 1847·1 links on a bearing of 133° to old peg xv. on the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 7 of the Ngakaroro Block No. 1A aforesaid.

ROAD C TO D.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, being a road, 100 links wide, traversing Sections Nos. 5, 4, and 7 of the Ngakaroro Block No. 1A, Kaitawa Survey District, the centre line of which commences at the north-eastern side of the road, A to B, hereinbefore described, at its intersection by the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 5 aforesaid, and proceeds in easterly and southerly directions to a point on the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 7 aforesaid 1808 links distant from the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section.

ROAD F TO E.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, being a road, 100 links wide, traversing Section No. 7 of the Ngakaroro Block No. 1A, Kaitawa Survey District, the north-western side of which commences at a point on the north-eastern boundary of the said Section No. 7, 3017 links distant from its easternmost corner, and proceeds in a westerly direction for a distance of 2186 links on a bearing of 234° 30′ to Road C to D, hereinbefore described.

As the same are delineated on map marked P.W. 503, deposited in the District Survey Office, Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Date of Governor’s warrant, 15th November, 1887.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

Native Land proposed to be taken for a Road in Maungaru Survey District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of May, 1890.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work authorised to be constructed by the Government, to wit, the construction of a road:

And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as a road shall and may be constructed on or through the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

A ROAD, 100 links wide or thereabouts, commencing at the north-eastern boundary-line of the Owhatia Block No. 154 (in red), Maungaru Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, and proceeding in southerly and westerly directions through the said block to the south-western boundary-line.
