Vesting a Reserve in the Kaikoura County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of April, 1890.

Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was reserved for a gravel-pit: And whereas it is expedient that the said land should be vested in the Kaikoura County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the Kaikoura County, in trust, for a gravel-pit.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Marlborough, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section No. 4, Block VIII., Mount Fyffe Survey District. Bounded on the north by Section No. 2, Block VIII., in the said survey district, 707·1 links; on the east by a public road, 707·1 links; on the south by a public road, 707·1 links; and on the west by said Section No. 2, Block VIII., 707·1 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Blenheim.

Removal of Restrictions on the Alienation of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of April, 1890.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor in Council by Te Here (Henry West), the Native owner of the land described in the second column of the Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the alienation of such land contained in the Crown grant, bearing date the twentieth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven, described in the first column of the said Schedule, may be removed: And whereas inquiry has been duly made by the Native Land Court, and the said Court has reported that the provisions of the law in that behalf have been complied with: And whereas it appears expedient to grant such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by “The Native Land Act, 1888,” and acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all restrictions imposed by the said Crown grant on the alienation of the said lands are hereby removed.

Crown Grant No. 19085 074, page 176, dated 20th July, 1877, issued in favour of Te Here, under the Native Lands Acts, 1865–67, containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable by sale, or by lease for a longer period than twenty-one years, or by mortgage, except with the consent of the Governor being previously obtained to any such sale, lease, or mortgage.”

All that parcel of land known as Section 12B, Block B, Otago Heads, containing 47 acres.

Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

ONSLOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

UNSURVEYED LAND.—RAGLAN COUNTY.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situate in the Parish of Whangape, and containing approximately 11,000 acres. Bounded towards the north generally by Sections Nos. 25 and 26 of the Parish of Whangape, by the Mangapiko Stream, by Sections Nos. 51 and 32 of the Parish of Whangape, and by a public road; towards the north-east by a right line, being the production in a north-westerly direction of the south-western boundary of Section No. 43 of the said parish, by that boundary and by a right line being its production in a south-easterly direction to the southern boundary of the Parish of Whangape; towards the south by part of the southern boundary of the Parish of Whangape aforesaid; and towards the west generally by Section No. 71 of the said parish, by a public road, and by the Mangataru Stream to the point of commencement.

Cash price, ten shillings per acre.

Description of Land: All bush land, undulating to broken, soil good, generally volcanic.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-eighth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

Description of Land: Broken, hill country, average altitude 2,500ft. About 500 acres of the north-west portion is almost valueless country of bare hill-tops and poor pumice; spurs covered with manuka scrub, 30 acres, however, being fairly good soil with scrubby bush; the remainder is open fern and flax-hills, with fairly good soil. The section is well watered, and accessible by a surveyed road, a bridle-track passing through it. Part of the section contains some good grass, and is suited for summer grazing purposes.

UNSURVEYED LAND.—FIRST- AND SECOND-CLASS LANDS.—NUHAKA BLOCK.

Parts of Blocks XIV., XV., XVI., XVIII., XIX., XX., Nuhaka North, and part Block VI., Nuhaka Survey District; about 11,000 acres. Price, 12s. 6d. to 22s. 6d. per acre for cash.

Description of Land: Forest land, with occasional clearings, well watered, and suitable for grazing purposes. There is a valuable hot spring which will be reserved for public purposes, together with an ample area around it. There are also some salt streams near this spring. The forest is for
