Altering Boundaries of Resident Magistrates’ Districts of Napier and Waipukurau, and Wairarapa.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Resident Magistrates Act, 1867,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, to constitute throughout the colony, or in any part thereof, districts to be called Resident Magistrates’ districts, and such districts from time to time to abolish, and the boundaries to define and alter, and in any such Proclamation to fix a time on and from which any such district shall be constituted or abolished, as the case may be:

And whereas by Proclamation bearing date the twelfth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities so vested in him, did define the boundaries of the Resident Magistrates’ Districts of Napier and Waipukurau, and Wairarapa, as described in the said Proclamation:

And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the said districts so defined as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities so vested in me as aforesaid, do hereby alter the boundaries of the said Districts of Napier and Waipukurau, and Wairarapa respectively, and define them as described in the Schedule hereto, as and from the first day of June next.

SCHEDULE.

NAPIER AND WAIPUKURAU.

ALL that area in the Provincial Districts of Hawke’s Bay and Auckland bounded towards the north by the 39th parallel of south latitude, from 176° 30′ east longitude to the main road from Taupo to Napier; thence towards the south-west by that road to the Rangitaiki River; thence towards the north-west by a right line in the direction of the most northerly point of Waikaremoana until intersected by a right line drawn between Tawhiwhau and Tatarakino Mountains; thence towards the north-east by a right line to the mouth of the Waipapa Stream; thence towards the south-east generally by the sea; towards the south by the Counties of Wairarapa North and Pahiatua respectively to the Manawatu Gorge; thence towards the west by the summit of the Ruahine Range to Trig. Station No. 88B; thence by a right line to Trig. Station No. 30 on Aorangi; thence again towards the south-east by a right line to Trig. Station No. 32; thence again towards the south-west by right lines over Trig. Station No. 16 to Trig. Station No. 17; thence again towards the north-west by right lines over Trig. Station No. 24 on Te Rotete to Trig. Station No. 28; thence again towards the north and north-west generally by right lines over Trig. Station No. 27 to Trig. Station No. 26; thence by a right line in the direction of Trig. Station No. 65A until intersected by a right line drawn from the summit of the Ruahine Range at 39° 30′ south latitude to the 39th parallel of south latitude at 176° 30′ east longitude; and thence by a right line to the said 39th parallel at 176° 30′ east longitude, the place of commencement.

WAIRARAPA.

All that area in the Provincial District of Wellington bounded towards the north by the Napier and Waipukurau Resident Magistrate’s District hereinbefore described; towards the south-east and south-west by the sea to Cape Turakirae; and thence towards the north-west by the summit of the Rimutaka and Tararua Ranges.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Auckland, this twenty-second day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of a Road over Land in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the road described in the Schedule hereto has been duly taken and laid off through the land specified under warrant of the date given in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 8 acres and 10 perches, more or less, situate in the Maungaru Survey District, being a road-line, 100 links wide and upwards, traversing the Hungahungatoroa No. 1 Block (No. 3425A), the eastern side of which commences at a point on the south-eastern boundary-line of the Hoanga Block (No. 158) 152 links distant from the Wairoa River; and proceeds thence southerly generally to a point on the northern boundary of the Maungatawhiri Block at a distance of 1480 links or thereabouts from the nearest angle on that boundary to the westward of Trig. Station No. XIV.A: be the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on Map No. 5058B, deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland.

Date of Governor’s warrant, 3rd August, 1886.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 26 perches, more or less, situate in the Maungaru Survey District, being a road-line, 100 links wide and upwards, lying along the Wairoa River boundary of the Hoanga No. 2 Block (No. 5126), the eastern side of which commences at a point on the southern boundary of the Kohekohe No. 1 Block (No. 409) at a distance of 110 links or thereabouts from the Wairoa River; and proceeds thence southerly to the road which lies along the Wairoa River boundary of Te Hoanga Block: as the same is delineated on Map No. 5058A, deposited in the Survey Office, Auckland.

Date of Governor’s warrant, 3rd August, 1886.

Land taken for a Road in Danevirke Road District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in Danevirke Road District:

And whereas the Danevirke Road Board has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act and the amendments thereof:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said road.
