Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Manchester Road Board, County of Oroua.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Manchester Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886.”

MANCHESTER ROAD BOARD.
I HEREBY give notice that a poll for a loan of £4,750 for certain works in and adjacent to No. 5 Ward, Manchester Road District, was taken on the 21st December, 1889.
The total number of ratepayers on the roll of No. 5 Ward is 118, and the total number of votes 159; of these, 76 ratepayers, having 109 votes, voted for the loan.
A majority of ratepayers, exercising more than one-half the total number of votes, being in favour of the proposal, I declare it to be carried.

THE following notice, received from His Worship the Mayor of Brunner, is published in accordance with “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886.”

Result of a poll taken on the 11th December to decide whether a special loan of £1,500 may or may not be raised to pay off the award of the Auditor-General in favour of the Grey County Council;—
Number of votes on special burgess roll, 401; number of votes polled in favour of loan, 245; number of burgesses on special roll, 336; number of burgesses polled in favour of loan, 204.
I, William Maxwell Vowell, Town Clerk of the Borough of Brunner, do solemnly and sincerely declare that all proceedings required by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” to be taken in or towards obtaining the sanction of the burgesses to raising a special loan of £1,500 have been duly taken, and that the resolution in favour of the proposal has been duly carried; and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

TRESPASS FEES ON STOCK.
SPECIAL trespass fees shall be levied on all stock found straying upon the Patea East Road District Roads, as follows:—
One shilling per head on all ordinary cattle and horses;
Ten shillings per head on entire animals;
Five shillings per head on all pigs;
Twopence per head on all sheep.
The above by-law to come into force on the 1st January, 1890.
Passed in compliance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, at a special meeting held on the 7th December, 1889.
