Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

ONSLOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Dunedin, this sixteenth day of
December, 1889.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
in Council by Agnes Simeon, by devise in will of
Teira te Watakore, the Native owner of the land described
in the second column of the Schedule hereto, praying that
the restrictions on the alienation of such lands contained in
the certificate of title, bearing date the second day of Septem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, described
in the first column of the said Schedule, may be removed:
And whereas it appears expedient to grant such application:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable
William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred on him by "The Native Land Act, 1888," and
acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all
restrictions imposed by the said certificate of title on the
alienation of the said lands are hereby removed.

Particulars of Grant or Instru-ment containing Restrictions. Description of Lands.
Certificate of title, Vol. 52, folio 133, dated 2nd Septem-ber, 1889, in favour of Teira te Watakore, issued by the District Land Registrar of the Land Registration Dis-trict of Wellington, and con-taining the following restric-tion : "Inalienable by sale or mortgage, or by lease beyond twenty-one years." All that parcel of land in the City of Wellington con-taining 3 roods 38.8 perches, and known by the name of Section 45 (Polhill's Gully) on the plan of the City of Wellington.

Extending Time for holding Annual Meeting of Ashburton
and Vincent County Councils.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Dunedin, this sixteenth day
of December, 1889.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in him by section three
hundred and twenty-two of "The Counties Act, 1886,"

His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby extend the time appointed
for holding the annual meeting of the Councils of the
Counties of Ashburton and Vincent, from Wednesday, the
twenty-seventh day of November, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-nine, to Wednesday, the eleventh day of
December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

Rural Lands in the Canterbury Land District open for
Sale or Selection.

ONSLOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the third section of "The Land
Act Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said
Act"), I, Wiliam Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the
Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is
provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated
in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection,
after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days
from the date of the first public notification hereof, in the
manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act,
and at the price per acre stated opposite such land in
the said Schedule.

Adjoining the Mount Alexander Road, about four miles
from the Hurunui Post Office, and about six and a half
miles from Waikari Railway-station. Light hilly country,
only suitable for grazing.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this eighteenth day of December, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-nine.
