NOTICE is hereby given that Alexander Mackay, Esquire,
a Judge of the Native Land Court, will, with an
Assessor, sit at the Native Land Court Office, Wellington,
on Saturday, the 30th day of November next, and make
inquiry respecting the applications of the persons named in
the first column of the Schedule hereto for the removal
of the restrictions on alienation of the lands named in the
second column, situate in the district named in the third
column, and thereupon report as he shall think fit.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Trust Commissioner will,
under the authority and for the purposes of the
said Acts, hold a Court at the Native Land Court Office,
Wellington, on Saturday, the 30th day of November, 1889,
for investigating the cases mentioned in the Schedule here-
under, at which time and place all persons interested in the
said cases, and having objections to any of the dealings, are
hereby notified to attend.

Waipiro Block Rehearing.

Native Land Court Office,
Gisborne, 19th November, 1889.

WHEREAS at a sitting of the Court held at Waiomata-
tini, on the 23rd day of June, 1885, a decision was
given on the investigation of the title to the land known as
Waipiro Block: And whereas a rehearing was duly ordered,
and a rehearing had, and on the 10th day of November,
1886, a decision was given upon such rehearing varying the
original decision: And whereas it is enacted by "The Nga-
rara and Waipiro Further Investigation Act, 1889," that,
notwithstanding the judgment of the Court given upon the
said rehearing in respect of the said Waipiro Block, the Court
shall sit as soon as conveniently may be to rehear the said
applications, and shall proceed in the matter of such rehear-
ing as if no rehearing had heretofore been had:

By and under the direction of His Honour the Chief Judge,
it is hereby notified that a sitting of the Court will be held
at Gisborne, on the 13th day of January, 1890, for the
purpose of rehearing the said applications in pursuance of
the provisions of the above-mentioned statute.

Goldfields Notices.

Reward of £10,000 offered for the Discovery of New Gold-
fields. Amended Conditions.

Mines Department,
Wellington, 30th April, 1888.

REWARDS of £10,000 are offered for the discovery of new
goldfields, upon the amended conditions set forth
hereunder.

AMENDED CONDITIONS.

  1. The maximum sum offered as a reward for any proved
    discovery of a new goldfield in accordance with these condi-
    tions is £5,000 for the North Island, and £5,000 for the
    Middle Island.

  2. The newly-discovered goldfield must be situated not
    less than forty miles from any existing goldfield or any
    existing workings.

  3. No reward shall be payable until 50,000 ounces of gold
    have been produced from the newly-discovered goldfield
    within three years from the date of its being registered.

  4. Any person discovering new gold-workings, and being
    desirous of obtaining the reward, shall immediately forward
    a written report of such discovery, with full particulars, to
    the Warden or Resident Magistrate of the district within
    which such discovery shall be situated, and the Warden or
    Resident Magistrate shall forthwith register the report as an
    application for reward.

  5. No prospecting will be allowed upon Native land with-
    out a prospecting license authorising the person therein
    named, with the consent of the owner of the land, to prospect,
    in accordance with the provisions of sections one hundred
    and thirty-five to one hundred and thirty-seven of "The
    Mining Act, 1886," inclusive.

No reward shall be paid for any discovery that may be
made upon Native land without the consent of the Native
owners and the approval of the Minister of Mines.

Land Transfer Act Notices.

NOTICE is hereby given that the parcel of land herein-
after described will be brought under the provisions
of "The Land Transfer Act, 1885," unless caveat be lodged
forbidding the same within one calendar month from the
date of the Gazette containing this notice.

No. 438. JOHN TAYLOR and ENOCH MADDOCK,
Applicants. Part of Section 6, Omaka, containing 28 acres
1 rood 20 perches. Now unoccupied.

Diagrams may be inspected at this office.

Dated this 18th day of November, 1889, at the Lands
