- Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
meeting may be adjourned from time to time. - The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the
fourth Tuesday in January in every succeeding year there-
after, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join
in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a
casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the
election of his successor. - If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
time appointed for holding the same, the members present
shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
such meeting. - If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a
Chairman. - All questions shall be determined by the majority of
votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

Vesting a Reserve in the Gordon Town Board.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth
day of October, 1889.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
was reserved for a gravel-pit: And whereas, in the
opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land
in the Gordon Town Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of
"The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve
shall become vested in the Gordon Town Board, in trust, for
a gravel-pit.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Southland,
containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 16 perches,
more or less, being Sections Nos. 1 and 2, Block III., East
Gore. Bounded on the north-east by the Waikaka River,
250 links; on the east by Section No. 3 of said block, 439-6
links; on the south by Erie Street, 517-1 links; and on the
north-west by Ontario Street, 828-6 links: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the
plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Invercar-
gill.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth
day of October, 1889.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-fourth section of "The Public Reserves
Act, 1881," I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do
hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public
recreation in the Provincial District of Westland, and known
as the Dobson Recreation Reserve, and described in the
Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought
under the operation of and declared to be subject to the pro-
visions of "The Public Domains Act, 1881;" and such
domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt
with, in manner directed by the said Act, by the Domain
Board constituted by an Order in Council issued on the
sixteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-eight.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Westland,
containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods, more or less,
being Reserve No. 290 (in red), Town of Dobson. Bounded
on the north-west by Mawhera Street, 700 links; on the
north-east by Maori Street, 500 links; on the south-east by
Pukaki Street, 700 links; and on the south-west by Sections
Nos. 391 and 362, 500 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Hokitika.

Removal of Restrictions on Alienation of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifteenth
day of October, 1889.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made to the Governor
in Council by Huhana te Mui and Hapi Puketapu,
a successor, comprising a majority in number of the Native
owners of the land described in the second column of the
Schedule hereto, praying that the restrictions on the aliena-
tion of such lands contained in the Crown grant, bearing date
the twenty-ninth day of August, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy, described in the first column of the said
Schedule, may be removed: And whereas it appears ex-
pedient to grant such application :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable
William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred on him by "The Native Land Act, 1888," and
acting with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that all
restrictions imposed by the said Crown grant on the aliena-
tion of the said lands are hereby removed.

Section No. 82, Block IX., Pomahaka Survey District.
