Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the said "Counties
Act, 1886," and the said "Road Boards Act, 1882," and by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, doth hereby dissolve the Board of the
said Manawatu Road District, as from the seventh day of
November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine;
and doth appoint that the Road Board for such district shall
consist of four members, being one member for each sub-
division thereof; and doth appoint George Johnston Scott to
be the Returning Officer to conduct the election of such
members; and that such election shall be held on Friday,
the eighth day of November, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-nine; and, further, that the first meeting of the
said Road Board shall be held at the office of the Manawatu
Road Board, on Monday, the eleventh day of November, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, at the hour of
eleven in the forenoon.

hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public
recreation in the Land District of Auckland, and known
as the Avondale (Auckland) Recreation-ground, and described
in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby
brought under the operation of and declared to be subject
to the provisions of "The Public Domains Act, 1881;" and
such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and
dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 38 acres 2 roods, more or less, situate in the Titirangi
Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland, and being
Section No. 361 of the Parish of Waikomiti. Bounded
towards the north by Sections Nos. 295, 296, 297, 298, 299,
300, 301, 302, 303, and 304 of the aforesaid parish, 2354 links;
towards the east by Lewis Street, 1584 links; generally
towards the south-east by the Manukau Harbour; and
thence generally towards the west by Powditch, Gilfillan,
and Wynyard Streets, 2000, 494, and 642 links respectively,
to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

W HEREAS the Auckland Harbour Board, being a
leasing authority within the meaning of "The
Public Bodies' Powers Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), has requested that these presents should issue,
and it appears expedient to make the order hereinafter con-
tained:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby order and declare that the Auckland Harbour
Board shall, as from the date of the publication hereof in
the New Zealand Gazette, be subject to the provisions of
sections one, two, three, four, seven, eight, nine, and eleven
of the said Act.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this ninth
day of October, 1889.

Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

W HEREAS by the twelfth section of "The Public
Domains Act, 1881," it is, inter alia, enacted that
the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time
delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred,
save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons for
any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be
specified in such order, and that every such delegation may
from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked:
And whereas, pursuant to "The Public Reserves Act, 1881,"
by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land
described in the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought
under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of
the said "Public Domains Act, 1881;"

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of
the Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this present order,
delegate all the powers conferred by the Act first above
mentioned, except the powers under or conferred by sections
five and twelve, to

The AVONDALE (AUCKLAND) ROAD BOARD,
which shall be known as the Avondale (Auckland) Domain
Board (herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say, -

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the third Monday in each month, at eight o'clock p.m., at
    the Road Board Office, Avondale, or at such other time or
    place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.
    The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the eighteenth
    day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
    nine.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no
    other business than that so specified shall be transacted at
    such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the third
    Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
    vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
    his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
    such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the
    office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members
    may, at any monthly or special meeting, appoint a Chair-
    man.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

day of October, 1889.

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

W HEREAS it has been made to appear that the burgess
roll of the Borough of Rangiora for the year com-
mencing on the first day of June, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-nine, was prepared and completed after the
times required by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,"
and it is expedient to validate the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the
said "Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," doth hereby de-
clare that the burgess rolls of the said Borough of Rangiora
for the year commencing on the first day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, so made as afore-
said, shall be as valid to all intents and purposes as though
the same had been made within the times required by the
said Act.
