Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Fixing a Sitting of the Supreme Court of New Zealand,
Charges in force on the New Zealand Railways.
Canterbury District.
THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The Go-
vernment Railways Act, 1887," do hereby make the following
alterations in and additions to the scale of fares, rates, and
charges on the New Zealand Railways, to come into force on
and after the 30th day of September, 1889 :-
PART III.-GOODS.
CLASSIFIED RATES.
Class O..
Goods of Class O will be charged at the following rates
per ton, in lieu of the present rates :-

PART IV. - LOCAL RATES.
The following local rates are hereby cancelled:β
Auckland Section.
Dross, fireclay, and bricks from Huntly, Kimihia, and
Miranda to Auckland; &c.
Hurunui-Bluff Section.
Stone from Mount Somers to Lyttelton, Timaru, and
Oamaru.
Rough stone from stations between Deborah and Totara,
inclusive, to Port Chalmers.
Dross, fireclay, and bricks from Springfield, Sheffield,
Whitecliffs, South Malvern, Glentunnel, Shag Point,
Bushey, Milton, Nelson, Stirling, Nightcaps, and Orepuki.

Government Railways Act, 1887," do hereby make the
following alterations in and additions to the scale of fares,
rates, and charges on the New Zealand Railways, to come
into force on and after the 30th day of September, 1889:-
PART IV.- LOCAL RATES.
Wanganui Section.
Hides consigned from Patea to Wanganui for export will
be charged 10s. per ton. Minimum quantity, 5 tons.

WE, three Judges of the Supreme Court of New Zealand,
in pursuance of the powers vested in us by "The
Supreme Court Act, 1882," hereby make the following rule
respecting the places and times for holding sittings of the
Supreme Court in the Judicial District of Canterbury for the
year 1889:-
A sitting for the trial of criminal and civil cases, and of
causes under "The Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act,
1867," will be held at the Supreme Courthouse, Christchurch,
to commence on Monday, the 2nd day of December, 1889,
at 11 o'clock a.m.
Given under our hands, this 18th day of September, 1889.

New South Wales, Bootmaker, has deposited at this
office a specification of an invention for an improvement in
the manufacture of leather-covered balls.
And I have appointed Thursday, the 17th day of July
next, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear
the said application and all objections thereto; and I re-
quire all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of
such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 2nd day of
July next, at this office, particulars in writing of their
objections to the said application, otherwise they will be
precluded from urging the same.
