A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use, con-
venience, and enjoyment of the Wellington-Napier
Railway Awapurua Section, to take further land in Block
VIII., Woodville Survey District, in addition to land pre-
viously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred on me by "The Public
Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

SCHEDULE.
THE parcel of land mentioned hereunder :--

In the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay; as the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D.
16343, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public
Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wel-
lington, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of
Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley,
of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron
Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and
of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron
Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand
Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint
Michael and Saint George; Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this seventh day of Sep-
tember, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-nine.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this second day
of September, 1889.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-fourth section of "The Public Reserves Act,
1881," I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do
hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public
recreation in the Land District of Nelson, and known as
the Kawatiri Recreation-ground, and described in the
Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought
under the operation of and declared to be subject to the
provisions of "The Public Domains Act, 1881;" and such
domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt
with in manner directed by the said Act.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 91 acres 2 roods 12 perches, be the same more or less,
situated in the Land District of Nelson, being Sections
Nos. 103 and 104, Block VII., Kawatiri Survey District.
Bounded on the northward by railway and road reserve; on
the eastward by a public road; on the southward by the
River Orowaiti; and on the westward by a public road.

WHEREAS by the twelfth section of "The Public
Domains Act, 1881," it is, inter alia, enacted that
the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time
delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred,
save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons for
any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be speci-
fied in such order, and that every such delegation may from
time to time in like manner be altered or revoked: And
