trict, to the northern corner of the last-mentioned section;
thence by a right line to the southern corner of Section No.
20559; thence by that section and its south-eastern bound-
ary-line produced to the left bank of the north branch of
the Ashburton River; thence again towards the north-east
by the said left bank; thence again towards the north-west
by Reserve No. 1123, Sections Nos. 14992, 13999, 17535, 14000,

hurst Road; thence again towards the north-east by Sections

towards the north-east by the last-mentioned section and
Sections Nos. 27193, 27033, and 27032 to the southernmost
corner of the said Section No. 27032; thence again towards
the north-west by a right line to the southernmost corner of
Section No. 27431, Ashburton Survey District; thence again
towards the north-east by Sections Nos. 24262, 23605, 23604,
and Reserve No. 2376 to the Great South Road; thence
again towards the north-west by that road to a point in line
with the north-eastern boundary-line of Reserve No. 1771;
thence again towards the north-east by a right line across a
railway reserve to the northern corner of Reserve No. 1771
aforesaid; thence by the eastern side of the Chertsey Bound-
ary Road to the sea; again towards the south-east by the
sea; and again towards the south-west by the right bank of
the Rangitata River to a point in line with the southernmost
boundary-line of Section No. 30771 aforesaid; and again
towards the north-west by a right line across the Rangitata
River to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned
section.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation on the ninth day of September, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in the Governor by "The Registration of Births
and Deaths Act, 1875," I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
abolish the existing registration districts known as the
Ashburton and Rakaia Districts; and do proclaim and
declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the
said districts is hereby divided anew into three registration
districts, the names whereof shall be the Springburn, Rakaia,
and Ashburton Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall
be coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts
bearing the same names as are set forth in a Proclamation
of even date herewith, made under the provisions of "The
Marriage Act, 1880."

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation on the ninth day of September, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

Altering Boundaries of Waiohine River District, Wairarapa.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by "The River Boards Act, 1884," I,
William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby alter the boundaries of
the Waiohine River District, and do hereby proclaim and
declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be
those set forth in the Schedule hereto, and that this Pro-
clamation shall come into force on the first day of Sep-
tember, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Wellington,
situate in the Tiffin Survey District, containing by ad-
measurement 4,600 acres, more or less. Bounded towards
the north by the Matarawa Road, from a point in line with
the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 41, Moroa
Block, to a point in line with the north-western side of Udy's
Road; thence towards the south-east by a right line across
the Waiohine River to that road; thence by Udy's Road
aforesaid to the road forming the north-eastern boundary of
Suburban Section No. 2, Township of Greytown; thence
towards the north-east by the last-mentioned road and its
south-western side produced to the College Reserve; thence
again towards the south-east by a right line to the right bank
of the Mangarara Creek, at a point where the north side of
the road forming the south-east boundary of the Powhatu
East Block intersects the said creek; thence by that road to
a point in line with the north-eastern boundary-line of
Section No. 70, Township of Greytown Suburban; thence
towards the south-west by a right line to the easternmost
corner of the said Section No. 70; thence by that section
and Sections Nos. 73, 54, 40, 38, and 39, Moroa Block, to the
northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence
by a right line to the southernmost corner of Section No. 45;
thence by a road to Section No. 41, Moroa Block; and
thence towards the north-west by the said Section No. 41,
and the south-eastern boundary-line of that section produced
to the Matarawa Road aforesaid.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
was reserved for the improvement and protection of
the Waioeka River: And whereas it is expedient that the
said land should be vested in the Opotiki Town Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
