Office, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Welling-
ton.

Extending Time for allocating Expenditure to be contri-
buted by Local Authorities within the North Canterbury
Hospital District.

ONSLOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by section twenty-one of "The Hospitals
and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885 (hereinafter
termed "the said Act"), it is provided that the Hospital and
Charitable Aid Board of each district shall, as early as
possible after first coming into office, and in every year
before the last day of March, after ascertaining the amount
of expenditure required for the maintenance of the institu-
tions in the district and otherwise, as therein provided,
allocate the proportion of such expenditure to be contributed
by the local authorities within the district in manner by the
said Act provided:

And whereas the North Canterbury Hospital Board has
ascertained the amount of expenditure required for the pur-
poses of the said recited section, as up to the thirty-first day
of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, but the
said Board has failed to make within the time limited by
the said Act any specific allocation of the proportion of such
expenditure to be contributed by the several local authorities
within the North Canterbury Hospital District:

And whereas it appears expedient to extend the time for
making such allocation as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers conferred by the said Act, and of all
other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do
hereby order and declare that the time within which the
North Canterbury Hospital Board may allocate among the
local authorities within the North Canterbury Hospital Dis-
trict the proportion of expenditure required for the main-
tenance of the several charitable institutions within the said
district shall be and the same is hereby extended to the
ninth day of August next.

And it is hereby declared that no objection to the said
allocation shall be allowed by reason only of such allocation
having been made after the time limited by section twenty-
one of the said Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirtieth day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-nine.

Postmaster appointed to take and receive Statutory
Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the
eighth section of "The Justices of the Peace Act
Amendment Act, 1888," I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
notify and declare that

WILLIAM BAILEY
of Lyell, in the said colony, a person holding the office of
Postmaster under "The Post Office Act, 1881," at Lyell
aforesaid, is authorised to take and receive statutory decla-
rations under the two hundred and thirty-fourth section of
"The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882."

As witness my hand, at Wellington, in the colony
aforesaid, this twenty-fourth day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory
Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the
eighth section of "The Justices of the Peace Act
Amendment Act, 1888," I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
notify and declare that the persons named in the Schedule.
hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under
"The Post Office Act, 1881," at the places set opposite their
names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorised to
take and receive statutory declarations under the two hun-
dred and thirty-fourth section of "The Justices of the Peace
Act, 1882."
