Land taken for the Construction of Harbour Works at
Gisborne, Provincial District of Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken, under "The Public Works
Act, 1882" and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit,
the construction of harbour works in the Turanganui Survey
District, Gisborne, Provincial District of Auckland:
And whereas the Gisborne Harbour Board has laid before
the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and
also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto
are the same as those mentioned in the second, third, and
fourth paragraphs of the Second Schedule to "The Gisborne
Harbour Act 1884 Amendment Act, 1887:"
And whereas by section nine of the last-mentioned Act it is
provided that the Governor may, if he think fit, by Proclama-
tion publicly notified, declare that the said lands are taken
for the purposes of the Gisborne Harbour works:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by
"The Public Works Act, 1882," "The Gisborne Harbour
Act 1884 Amendment Act, 1887," and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the
Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the
construction of the said Gisborne Harbour works.

All in the Provincial District of Auckland; as the said par-
cels of land are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 14396, deposited in the office of the Minister
for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of
Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of
Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley,
of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron
Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and
of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron
Cranley of Imbercourt; Baronet; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council;
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Go-
vernor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same;
and issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-fourth day of July, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth
day of June, 1889.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is required to be taken for a public work, to wit, the
construction of a road in Horowhenua County:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native
owners:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in him by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and the
amendments thereof, and of all other powers in anywise
enabling him in this behalf His Excellency William Hil-
lier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that
the public work hereinbefore mentioned shall and may be
constructed on or through the parcels of land more par-
ticularly mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
