THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and all
amendments thereof, and in the matter of the Hokonui
Coal-mining Company (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given, that, at an extraordinary
general meeting of the Hokonui Coal-mining Com-
pany (Limited), duly convened and held at the registered
office of the company, Dee Street, Invercargill, on Monday,
the 3rd June, 1889, the following resolutions were duly
passed :—
(1.) “That the Hokonui Coal-mining Company (Limited)
be wound up voluntarily.” (2.) “That two Liquidators be
appointed to wind up the affairs of the said company.” (3.)
“That Mr. James Ewart Hannah, Accountant, be appointed
one of the Liquidators for the purpose of winding-up the
affairs of the said company.” (4.) “That Mr. Thomas
Perkins, Accountant, be the other Liquidator appointed to
wind up the affairs of said company.” (5.) “That the
remuneration of the Liquidators be at the rate of 5 per cent.
on the sale of the company’s assets, and that they be in-
structed to sell the whole of the assets of the company in
one lot, with the exception of the book-debts; and that the
latter be collected by the Liquidators on a commission of
5 per cent.” (6.) “That this meeting do now adjourn to this
night three weeks, Monday, the 24th June, 1889, at 8 p.m.,
for the purpose of confirming the above resolutions.”

And notice is hereby also given that, at a subsequent
extraordinary general meeting of the members of the said
company, duly convened and held at the same place and
hour appointed, on Monday, the 24th June, 1889, the above
resolutions were duly confirmed.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and in the
matter of the Whangarei Coal-mining Company (Limited),
in liquidation.

A GENERAL Meeting of the above-named company will
be held on Monday, the 9th day of September, 1889,
at 1 o’clock in the afternoon, at the offices of Messrs. Hill
and Mahony, Solicitors, 36, Shortland Street, Auckland, for
the purpose of having an account laid before them showing
the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted
and the property of the company disposed of, and hearing
any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership existing
between the undersigned, as Runholders, at Black
Forest, Canterbury, has been dissolved as from the 30th day
of June, 1889.

All debts owing to the firm must be paid to, and all debts
owing by the firm will be paid by, Mr. Donaldson.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto
carried on at Christchurch by the undersigned as
Coal and Timber Merchants, under the style or firm of
“Johnston, Wood, and Co.,” was this day dissolved by
effluxion of time. The business will in future be carried on
by Mr. R. H. Wood on his sole account, who will collect
all amounts due to, and pay all debts due by, the late
partnership.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore
carried on by the undersigned, WILLIAM THOMPSON
and WALTER BENTHAM CLARK, at Hawera, under the style
or firm of “Thompson and Clark,” as General Storekeepers,
was dissolved as from the 29th day of June, 1889, by mutual
consent. All debts due to and by the late partnership will
be received and paid by the said Walter Bentham Clark.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of the provisions
of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” that the Mayor,
Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Sydenham
(hereinafter called “the Council”), propose to take, under the
provisions of the said Act, and of “The Municipal Corpora-
tions Act, 1886,” for the purpose of widening two streets in
the Borough of Sydenham, namely, Ruskin Street and the
Waltham Road, the several parcels of land mentioned in the
Schedule hereto.

Two plans, marked A and B respectively, showing the
streets to be widened, and the lands required and proposed
to be taken, together with the names of the several owners
and occupiers of such lands, so far as they can be ascer-
tained, can be seen at the Council’s offices, Bowen Street,
Sydenham, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, excepting Satur-
days, and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. till noon.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in
writing any well-grounded objections they may have to the
proposed widening of the said streets or either of them, or
to the taking of the lands required for that purpose; and all
such objections must be delivered at the Council’s offices
within forty days from the first publication of this notice,
namely, from the 4th day of July, 1889.
