Vesting Reserves in the Borough of Napier.

ONSLOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of "The Land Act,
1885," it is provided that the reserves to be made
for any borough or town district under such section shall be
made only in cases where no such reserves for the purpose
of sections three, five, and six of "The Plans of Towns
Regulation Act, 1875," exist therein, or, if existing, do not
equal or exceed the amount of reserves authorised to be
made under such last-mentioned Act:

And whereas the existing reserves for the Borough of
Napier do not equal the amount of reserves authorised to
be made under "The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875,"
and it appears expedient to make the reserves hereinafter
mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the
seventeenth section of "The Land Act, 1885," and of all
other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare
that the land enumerated in the first column of the Schedule
hereto shall be and the same is hereby reserved for the pur-
pose stated opposite to the description of such land in the
second column hereto, for the benefit of the Borough of
Napier, as constituted under the provisions of "The Muni-
cipal Corporations Act, 1867," on the twenty-sixth day of
November, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

All that parcel of land in the Hawke's Endowment in
Bay Land District, containing by ad-aid of the borough
measurement 2 acres 2 roods 34 perches, funds.
more or less, being Section No. 628,
Town of Napier. Bounded towards
the north-east by Wellesley Road, 380
links; towards the south generally by the
Whare-o-maraenui Block, 2384-2 links;
and towards the north-west by the Rail-
way Reserve, 521.5 and 1281.7 links:

deposited in the office of the Chief Sur-
veyor, Napier.

this twenty-first day of June, one thousand eight

Rural Lands in the Marlborough Land District open for
Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the third section of "The Land
Act Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said
Act"), I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the
Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is
provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated
in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection,
after the lapse of a period of forty-five days from the date
of the first public notification hereof, in the manner and
upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the
price per acre respectively set opposite such land in the said
Schedule.

Maori Bay, Pelorus Sound, Linkwater Survey District.

Kenepuru and Mahau Sounds.

Description of Land: Section 2, Block I, about 10 acres
good level land with a few timber trees, remainder of section
steep hills, poor land; 1, all hill, clay soil, good black soil in
gullies, manuka and cedar scrub and black birch on spurs;
2, four acres level, rest hill, good soil, black birch, ma-
nuka, cedar, tree-ferns; 4, 15 acres level, rest hill, soil on
flat fair, hill inferior, black birch; 6 and 7, all hill, fair soil,
covered with fern, scrub, and light bush; 45, 86, 46, steep
hill-slopes, clay soil, fern, scrub, and small bush, fronting
the waters of Pelorus Sound; 151, all hill covered with bush.

Kenepuru Sound, Orieri Survey District.

  ment to applicant for survey, in the event of his not being the
  selector.

Four-fathom Bay, Pelorus Sound.

North-west Bay, Pelorus Sound.

Description of Land: Section 2, 18 acres comparatively
level, remainder hill, the flat covered with tawa and pukatea,
and the soil good, hill covered mostly with birch, except
lower slopes, where there is mixed bush, about half of the
hill is inferior land, poor clay soil, and half is fair land and
would grass well; 167, half flat, half lower slopes of hill, soil
good, covered with mixed timber, has been partly cut over;
1, about 12 acres level, remainder steep hill, fair soil, heavy
bush, mostly tawa, pukatea, and birch.

Waitaria Bay, Pelorus Sound, Gore Survey District.
