Licensing Districts abolished and defined.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Licensing Act, 1881," and "The
Licensing Act Amendment Act, 1882," it is enacted
that the Governor shall from time to time define districts to
be licensing districts under the said Acts, and from time to
time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the same, and
may abolish any district:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the
said Acts, do hereby abolish, from and after the first day of
February next, the Licensing District of Porangahau; do
hereby alter and redefine the boundaries of the Patangata
Licensing District, which shall, from and after the said first
day of February next, be those described in the First
Schedule hereto; and do hereby proclaim and define the
part of the colony mentioned and described in the Second
Schedule hereto to be, from and after the said first day of
February next, an ordinary licensing district for the pur-
poses of the said Act.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
PATANGATA COUNTY.
Patangata Licensing District.—Comprises all that area in
the County of Patangata bounded towards the north
generally by the County of Hawke's Bay; towards the
south-east by the ocean; towards the south-west by the
County of Wairarapa North; and towards the west generally
by the County of Waipawa and by the Kaikora North Town
District, as the said town district is described in the New
Zealand Gazette No. 65, 16th December, 1888.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
PATANGATA COUNTY.
Kaikora North Licensing District.—Comprises all that
area in the County of Patangata known as the Kaikora
North Town District, as described in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 65, 16th December, 1888.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most
Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of
January, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-nine.

Abolishing and Constituting the Hauraki Mining District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me
by "The Mining Act, 1886" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Go-
vernor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the
Hauraki Mining District, as constituted by Proclamation
published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 66, of the
twenty-second day of December, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-six; and I do hereby constitute and appoint, in
lieu thereof, the portions of the colony particularly de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto, which shall be designated
the Hauraki Mining District; and I do hereby further pro-
claim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect
as from the twenty-first day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-nine.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH ISLAND.—HAURAKI MINING DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland
bounded towards the north-east generally by the ocean,
from Cape Colville to Nga-kuri-a-whare; thence again
towards the south-east by the confiscation boundary-line
to a point due north of the north-west corner of Section
No. 15, Block IV., Katikati Survey District; thence again
towards the east by a straight line to that corner; thence
by the said Section No. 15 to its south-western corner;
thence by a straight line to the north-west corner of Sec-
tion No. 16, Block IV., Katikati Survey District; thence
by the said Section No. 16, and Sections Nos. 65 and 53A,
Block VIII., Katikati Survey District; towards the south
by a Native reserve; again towards the east by the said
Native reserve and a timber reserve to the southernmost
corner of the latter; thence again towards the south by
a straight line to the north-west corner of Section No. 63
of the said Block VIII.; thence again towards the south-east
and north-east by the said Section No. 63 and Sections
Nos. 62 and 70 of Block VIII. aforesaid to the south-western
corner of the last-mentioned section; thence again towards
the south by a road to the south-western corner of a timber
ERRATUM.—In New Zealand Gazette No. 2, of the 10th January, 1889, page 19, under "Volunteer Officers ap-
pointed," for "Frederick Calvert to be Lieutenant, Dunedin City Guards Rifle Volunteers," read "Frederick Calvert
to be Lieutenant, Dunedin City Rifle Volunteers."
