NOTICE.

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

[No. 34

In the matter of "The District Railways Act, 1877," and
the several amendments thereof, and in the matter of the
Cobden Railway and Coal Company (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the
aforesaid company to apply to His Excellency the
Governor for authority, under the above-mentioned Acts, to
construct a railway from Cobden vid Coal Creek to a point
near the Seven-mile Creek, a length of 4 miles and 78 chains
or thereabouts; and that the plans defining the middle line,
and direction thereof, and books of reference showing the
lands required to be taken for the same, and the names of
the owners and occupiers thereof, as far as they can be
ascertained, have this day been deposited, and may be in-
spected, at the office of the Grey County Council, in Gresson
Street, in the Borough of Greymouth, the office of the
Borough Council at Greymouth, the Post Office at Cobden,
and the Public Works Office at Wellington, during office
hours, without fee.

"THE DISTRICT RAILWAYS ACT, 1877."

NOTICE is hereby given that the Point Elizabeth Rail-
way Company (Limited) intends to apply to His
Excellency the Governor, under the twentieth section of the
above Act, for leave to construct a railway about 7 miles and
10 chains long from Mawhera Quay, Greymouth, through
Block XII., Greymouth Survey District, and Blocks I., II.,
III., and IV., Cobden Survey District; and that the plan
and book of reference showing the line of such railway and
the limit of deviation, the lands required to be taken, and
the names of the owners and occupiers so far as can be ascer-
tained, have been deposited at the office of the Grey County
Council, and can be there inspected free of cost.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND,
NELSON DISTRICT.

In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882," and in the
matter of the Champion Copper-mining Company of New
Zealand (in liquidation).

Tuesday, the 21st day of May, 1889.

UPON the application of the Official Liquidator of the
above-named company, and upon reading the Regis-
trar's certificate, dated the twenty-first day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, whereby it appears
that the affairs of the said company have been completely
wound up, it is ordered that the said Champion Copper-
mining Company of New Zealand (Limited) be dissolved as
from this twenty-first day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-nine; and that the bond, dated the
thirteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six, entered into by the said Official Liquidator
together with Burchard Franzen, Henry Douglas Jackson,
Peter Cooke, and James Wilson, his sureties, be released.

A GENERAL Meeting of the Shareholders of the
Motueka Shipping Company, Limited (now in liquida-
tion), will be held at the company's office, High Street,
Motueka, at 11.30 a.m. on the 22nd day of July, 1889, to
submit a statement of the final winding-up of the affairs of
the said company.

for some time past been carried on by WILLIAM
BARNADUS RETEMEYER and JOSEPH WRIGHTSON, under the
style or firm of "Retemeyer and Wrightson," at Feilding, in
the trades or businesses of Produce Merchants and Commis-
sion Agents, was dissolved by mutual consent as from the
8th day of May, 1889. The businesses will be carried on by
the said Joseph Wrightson alone, who will receive and pay
all accounts due to or from the late firm.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership which has
for some time past been carried on by DAVID BLOOM
and BARNETT HENRY KEESING, under the firm of "B. H.
Keesing," at the City of Auckland, in the trade or business
of Pawnbrokers, was dissolved by mutual consent as from the
1st April ultimo.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.-The subscription is at the rate of 30s..
per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than
three months cannot be subscribed for.

Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.

Advertisements are charged at the uniform rate of 6d. per
line for each insertion.

For half-yearly statements under the Mining Act the
charge is 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday even-
ing in each week, and notices for insertion must be received
by the Government Printer before two o'clock of the day
preceding publication.

Communications should be addressed to the Government
Printer, Wellington, to whom post office money orders should
be made payable.

Postage or duty stamps cannot be received in payment
from any place at which postal notes or post office orders are
issued.

Booksellers and Advertising Agents will be allowed a com-
mission at the rate of 5 per cent.

NO ADVERTISEMENT WILL BE INSERTED WITHOUT PREPAY-
MENT BEING MAED.
